Anna Paquin Stands Out in All-Star Cast of The Romantics

Anna Paquin, True Blood, Sookie Stackhouse, The RomanticsIn The Romantics, Anna Paquin plays a role about as different from True Blood's Sookie Stackhouse as she could possibly get. She's a bride-to-be, engaged to the handsome Josh Duhamel, who's struggling with feelings for his ex, played by Katie Holmes, who just so happens to be the maid of honor. The cast also includes Adam Brody, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, and Dianna Agron. Feedback on the film overall has been mostly negative. Over at TinyMixTapes.com, the reviewer writes that the backstory of these college friends who reunite for a wedding weekend of two of their own is never established. Instead, viewers are left with "remarkably banal conversations about which archetype each character represents and silent-save-for-soundtrack walks on the beach." Lest this discourage you from seeing the film, it has also gotten praise, such as this from the critic at the New York Post:
"With its tart dialogue and its perfect ending, it is sensitive as well as sagacious. It's a rare combination."
All this to say, it's a matter of opinion. And even the bad report above goes on to praise one cast member in particular:
"Easily walking away with the film, Anna Paquin's entitled bitch queen of a bride. Although she may be the ostensible villain, her aggression makes her sympathetic compared to the sulky shells around her; when she pussy whips the pre-wedding jitters out of Duhamel, we only wish she'd tear into the rest of the cast as well."
So maybe that description isn't totally foreign to Anna's work on True Blood--we saw Sookie full of attitude in the latter half of Season 3! That might be reason enough for Truebies who are dying for a fix to go see it. The Romantics is currently playing in select US theaters. True Blood Finale Party in Greensboro, NC

True Blood Privat Screening Event Fans and Stars Gather in Greensboro, NC for the True Blood Finale

A red carpet in North Carolina? More than 1,100 True Blood fans gathered in Greensboro, NC for a finale showing of True Blood in a downtown Greensboro theater. They were treated to special appearances by cast members Kristin Bauer-van Straten (Pam), Kevin Alejandro (Jesus), Todd Lowe (Terry). The party, put on by Time Warner Cable and Greensboro's Dick Broadcasting, was held in Greensboro because the show was number one in the ratings there this season. Many of the cast members were excited to be there, and got to be part of being a "truebie".
"I'm going to see it with everyone else for the first time, so it's going to be quite something on a big screen too which we don't normally see so it's fun," said Kristen Bauer.
The stars were introduced and did a question and answer before the showing. Many of the questions had to do with how they got their start with True Blood.; the actors kept the audience laughing and in high spirits.  Kristin Bauer-van Straten made lots of jokes, and Kevin Alejandro made the only comment about "those Twilight" movies. Everyone definitely seemed to enjoy themselves at the season finale party. You can watch the video to see the famous lines of the season! Print, Cut And Play With Alcide Paper Doll

Joe Manganiello, True Blood, Alcide HerveauxAfter the Season 3 finale, every True Blood fan must ask themselves what they're going to do with themselves until the new season! Well, if you have some imagination, scissors, and nostalgic memories of paper dolls,  you're in luck! Once again, the talented  illustrator and graphic designer Andy Swist has created a new paper doll in the True Blood series. Now joining the paper cast is our favorite werewolf Alcide Herveaux. Fans can enjoy dressing Alcide in his red flannel shirt, have him shift into a wolf, or like the show keep him shirtless. Either way, it'll be fun way to pass the time until Season 4. Andy encourages fans to use glitter, ribbon or any other art supply they may have to enhance the character. Laminating and using a thick stock paper will also help to keep the paper dolls from ripping. To check out the new Alcide paper doll or the whole True Blood collection, visit andyswist.com. Collect all the characters and you too can feel like creator and director Alan Ball! Source: andyswist.com--True Blood Paper Doll Collection (Photo Source: HBO, Inc)

Joe Manganiello's Hopes About Sookie and David Bowie For Season 4

Season 3 of True Blood was a lot sexier thanks to Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide Herveaux. Now a series regular, Joe spoke about Season 4 at the Alice and Olivia New York Fashion Week event. He talks a little about the future for his characters as well as Sookie, but what's really interesting is his hope to have David Bowie guest star on the show. David Bowie in Bon Temps? That would make for high ratings...maybe someone at HBO should take Joe's advice. Check out the video interview to get your True Blood fix as well as some juicy details about Season 4. Preorder Nathan Barr's Score for True Blood Season 2

True Blood Season 2 ScoreWhen the summer ends, True Blood fans do one thing: try to figure out what to do with themselves until they see a new season of their beloved vampires. HBO and Nathan Barr have been kind enough to help fans through their fang withdrawal. Why not spend the winter months curled up on the couch listening to the score from Season 2? The 13 track album is due to hit stores on September 21 and will include songs such as Sookie's Dreams, Eric the Viking, Hoyt and Jessica, and Goodbye Godric. All the songs were written, performed and recorded by Nathan himself. The album can be pre ordered at www.varesesarabande.com; for less than $20, fans can relive the most heart breaking or sexiest scenes of the show, while they commute to work or read the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. Whatever the plan is this winter, the Season 2 score is a great way to keep warm until True Blood comes back for its 4th season in the summer of 2011. VIDEO: True Blood's Denis O'Hare at the Boardwalk Empire Premiere

Denis O'Hare, who we know and love to hate as the evil King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington, was seen at the Boardwalk Empire premiere in New York City on September 15, 2010. He was interviewed on the red carpet about his work in various shows including True Blood. One thing Denis commented on was the True Blood Season 3 Finale and how we saw him being buried in cement. He referred to how quickly Eric got out of the cement, and how it's possible for Russell to do the same, though nothing is set in stone yet. Enjoy the video!
