Emmy Nominations were released on Thursday and while we would have loved to have seen
Anna Paquin and other cast members receive nominations,
True Blood was nominated for
Best Drama Series. The show was also nominated for
Outstanding Art Direction for a Single Camera Series; Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series; Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or a Special; and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series. Alan Ball and the writers are currently working on
Season 4 and celebrated the nomination with a round of Starbucks.
Alan wasn't even aware that nominations were being released Thursday. He found out about
True Blood's nominations when he woke up this morning to numerous messages congratulating him. He told the Los Angeles Times:
"It's such a great time for television right now. There are so many great, amazing television series on. To be considered part of that by your peers is really gratifying."
As fans of the series we are excited to see that
True Blood is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Source:
