The cast of True Blood came out this 4th of July weekend for the Essence Music Festival. The festival was held at the Belvedere Lounge in New Orleans. Performers at the festival included Jill Scott, Keri Hilson, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, and Gladys Knight to name just a few. HBO partnered with the Belvedere and lifestyle maven, Bevy Smith to host a late night dinner event for the Essence Music Festival performers and the cast of True Blood and Treme. The dinner was held at the restaurant, 'August'. John Besh, a New Orleans native and Bravo TV's Top Chef, owns the new restaurant. True Blood stars included Rutina Wesley who plays Tara Thornton on the show and Alfre Woodard who plays Lafyette's mother on the new season.
