True Blood Getting Ready to Take Singapore
True Blood is going to be premiering in Singapore on April 9, 2009 on MAX (previously Cinemax) and recently HBO Asia hosted a blogger event at the INK Club Bar in Singapore to promote the premiere of True Blood. The evening event featured the Street Fighter-style game called Fang Fighter and many prizes were being given out to spread to word out among local bloggers about Alan Ball's hit HBO TV series True Blood. The bloggers were introduced to the HBO Asia True Blood site and were given a chance to check out the blog, information on the cast and the show and the viral campaign. As the blogger reports the color theme of the event was red of course and they were served "True Blood" cocktails which they were taught how to make. One thing that caught my eyes in this report were the door prizes that the bloggers received . As you can see the items are quite different from what we have here in North America and it is always interesting to see the different merchandise promoting True Blood in different countries.

Carrie Preston Talks About True Blood Season Two
"Things are going to get a little crazy on the show," … "There's going to be a bunch of new sort of supernatural things that are being introduced. Besides the ... the vampires. And, as far as Arlene goes, well, let's just say that Arlene's not the type of woman to be single for very long."The regular cast of True Blood from season 1 return with a few additional characters including Valerie Cruz, Anna Camp, Ashley Jones, Michelle Forbes, Mehcad Brooks and Deborah Ann Woll who will all have a part in the storyline for season two. According to Carrie Preston True Blood has just finished filming episode 5 and will be starting episode 6 marking the halfway point of filming (there are 12 episode per season). SCI FI Wire asked Carrie if she could explain some of the supernatural aspects that are going to occur in season 2. As Carrie indicated she can not talk in detail but can state some general overviews of what will happen. One thing that Carrie did mention is that season two is departing a bit away from the books (Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series which True Blood is an adaptation) and that the writers are expanding some of the characters and developing several different storylines occurring at the same time.
"…they're fleshing out characters that are minor in the books, and they're ... changing some plot things, and they've really made it their own. ... You're going to see some characters doing things that you're surprised at, which will be fun. So I think the show is going to kind of keep you on your toes, and there's several different storylines that are spinning in the air. …"The several different storylines that Carrie is referring to are ones involving Bill and Sookie, Jason and stuff happening with him, Tara and her experiences with her new friends and of course the others at Merlotte's will see some action too. When SCI FI Wire asked about Michelle Forbes' character, Maryann , Carrie stated that she is a mysterious character who is going to be prominent in season two. As to what she is and her powers, even Carrie states that "we're still a little confused ... as to what her powers actually are. But, you know, she is a very powerful force." Now the big question, does anyone die in season 2? Well all that Carrie could say is that you don't know who is going to live or die and that goes for both the new cast members and the regulars. As Carrie says these are some of the questions she asks herself:
"… are you going to make it? Are you going to make it through the season? Especially now that they've departed from the books. Because when I got the job, of course, I read all the books to see if Arlene lives, and she does in the books, but who knows?"SOURCE: SCI FI Wire.com (Photo credit: HBO Inc.)

Vote for Bill Compton on True Blood
"He'll just as soon suck your hemoglobin for a midnight snack, but unlike many other of his vampire brethren, Bill (Stephen Moyer) can be a good friend too. He's certainly spry for someone 173 years old — not a wrinkle on him — and his affection for Sookie (Anna Paquin) was something he never expected. Still trying to figure how he can satisfy both his vampire needs without being repelling to humans, Bill is an all right guy. Just be sure not to expose your neck toward him with a "Come get a taste of me" tease."Currently it is a very close race between Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton and Patrick Jane from "The Mentalist." Here is a little trick. If you clear your cache and cookies you can vote multiple times. So go out there and vote and remember a vote for Bill Compton is a vote for True Blood. Click here to vote. Ryan Kwanten Talks About Acting and True Blood
"It's rare that an actor can have one role [at a time] let alone two, so I'll take it when it's given to me," Kwanten says, in a brief break from filming True Blood. "To be honest, I came here [to Los Angeles] with a one-week ticket and it's now years later ... it's been good. "I'd like to think I'm a resilient kind of guy - I work hard. It's a tough business but, like anything in life, if you put in the hard yards, you get the rewards."Ryan states that perhaps one of the best things that has happened to him is playing Jason Stackhouse on True Blood and working with Alan Ball.
"The first and best note Alan gave me was when he said 'more than anything it's fun to be Jason'," Kwanten says. "I've taken that [advice] and just run with it. Part of the allure of the show is this eclectic mix of characters. That really makes everything so unpredictable and I'm really glad to be able to be a part of that."SOURCE: The Sun-Herald (Photo credit: IMDb.com)

Carrie Preston of True Blood Receives Acclaim
"forces the Oscar-winner (Julia Roberts) to emote pity, anger, sympathy and sadness without saying a single word, and gets one of the biggest laughs in the film while doing it."While her scene with Clive Owen allowed the actor in the scene to "put his guard down and really have fun." Whatever the future holds for Carrie, her performance on True Blood is wonderful and contributes to the setting of show. As Mr. Rosen states she is a versatile actress who would fit perfectly in any independent movie or as a regular on any number of TV series. True Blood A Foreseer of the Future
"This blood group is relatively rare, applicable to about 7 per cent of the population, but it could be produced in unlimited quantities from embryonic stem cells because of their ability to multiply indefinitely in the laboratory. It also raises the intriguing philosophical question of whether the synthetic blood will have come from someone who never existed. In theory, just one embryo could meet the nation's needs."The deal involves National Health Service Blood and Transplant, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and the Wellcome Trust, the world's biggest medical research charity in conjunction with blood transfusion services of Scotland, England ,Wales and the Irish Government . William Sanderson Talks about True Blood
"The same casting director that did Deadwood brought me in to read the part of Sheriff Dearborne for True Blood's creator, Alan Ball. I know they were looking for authentic southern accents - which has been a curse and a blessing for me. Alan said he had never seen "Deadwood" - maybe that's why I landed the role! [Laughs]"Previously Mr. Sanderson was on the HBO series "Deadwood" where he played the role of E.B. He stated he loved playing the slimy character but states it is very refreshing to play a good-guy Sheriff like Bud Dearborne. He states that he often finds himself playing the "weird, quirky or bad guy in town." Mr. Morris tries to gain more information about Mr. Sanderson' s character on True Blood and asks whether we will learn more about him. Mr. Sanderson states that:
"There's not much on him in Charlaine Harris's books. He is a southerner, of course, is married and has grandchildren. I'm still learning. Alan Ball told me that Bud was Jason's Sunday school teacher - the most helpful clue about Bud to date. It goes without saying that I'm looking forward to learning more about him as time goes on."Mr. Sanderson explains that although the series is set in Louisiana the majority of the filming occurs in and around Los Angeles and on sound stages in Hollywood with some outdoor shots done in Louisiana that requires the cast and crew to make several trip to in order to shoot the scenes. When asked what he believes to be the attraction of the show True Blood, Mr. Sanderson replies with a humorous remark that YOUTH is the main reason. He further elaborates that people enjoy watching "young and attractive characters struggling with love and life." Of course the fantastic writing, music and hard work by everyone makes it a wonderful production to work on Mr. Sanderson says. When asked the question does he believe in vampires Mr. Sanderson states that he has never met one but that being said does not mean they do not exist. Mr. Sanderson is keeping himself busy not only with True Blood but also worked on an independent film entitled "Pretty Ugly People" which is directed by Tate Taylor and also stars Missi Pyle, Melissa McCarthy and Allison Janney. The movie has won several awards including: Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the Crossroads Film Festival; Jury Prize for Best Feature Film at the Long Island Film Expo; Best Feature Film Award at the Central Florida Film Festival; Audience Award at the Gotham Screen Film Festival; and Best Feature Film Award at Berks Movie Madness Pretty Ugly People is about six estranged college friends who are brought together by a "dying" woman's wish. In fact, Lucy (Missi Pyle) is not dying, she's had gastric-bypass surgery and tricks her friends to come on a trip to a retreat in Montana so the "thin" Lucy can finally feel a part of the group. She learns that life on the other side of obesity is not as green as she once thought. Pretty Ugly People _Trailer_short To read the complete interview by Clint Morris click on the link here.
