Entertainment Tonight Online reports that Sam Trammell and Rutina Wesley, who play Sam Trammell and Tara Thornton on True Blood, will be attending the 5th Annual GLSEN Respect Awards. They will be joined by stars from Grey's Anatomy, Bored to Death, Dancing with the Stars, and Entourage. GLSEN which stands for Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, is honoring HBO for being instrumental in GLSEN's growth and visibility the last few years and for its body of work in portraying positive images of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community through their exceptional series and movies. HBO is being honored also for standing as an example of diversity both on camera and as a corporate leader. Shonda Rhimes, who produces both Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice is also being honored at the event as an example of a producer who incorporates diversity into her shows. GLSEN will also be honoring David Bohnett who has been a long time supporter of GLSEN's work. GLSEN is the leading national education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students.
