The TV Addict was incredibly lucky, and they got an interview with the incredible Stephen Moyer to help all of us deal with the final stretch of our nine month wait since the end of Season 2 of True Blood to the upcoming Season 3. Stephen was asked a lot of questions about a lot of topics, including the upcoming Season 3, the Emmys, and the True Blood fandom. Stephen said that he's always wanted to just be a character, and when done, leave that character behind. However, with True Blood, everything keeps growing and getting more and more fun. Plus, the writers are making the characters even more complex. Stephen also loves the work setup, since he's working for 6 or 7 months, then getting 5 or so months off to do other things if he wants to. That makes getting back to work exciting for everyone in the cast, since they're all reconnecting again. Stephen also talked about the vampire genre and how interesting it is. He said that for True Blood, "I don't think any of us were aware of how far we'd be able to talk about sexuality, and about race, and social divisions, all of those interesting things that Alan [Ball] touches upon."Stephen added to that comment by saying that if he were to get the chance to write Bill's character, he would probably have Bill lighten up a bit and learn more from the mistakes he's made. Stephen said of the Emmys that typically, they don't go for genre shows, and if he were the average viewer, he might be turned off from True Blood because of prejudices about the vampire genre. For that reason, Stephen is grateful and would be pleasantly surprised if the Emmys gave True Blood more recognition.
