"I don't think any of us were aware of how far we'd be able to talk about sexuality, and about race, and social divisions, all of those interesting things that Alan [Ball] touches upon."Stephen added to that comment by saying that if he were to get the chance to write Bill's character, he would probably have Bill lighten up a bit and learn more from the mistakes he's made. Stephen said of the Emmys that typically, they don't go for genre shows, and if he were the average viewer, he might be turned off from True Blood because of prejudices about the vampire genre. For that reason, Stephen is grateful and would be pleasantly surprised if the Emmys gave True Blood more recognition. He also loves the fan response to True Blood, since it's so respectful to the show and the actors involved in it. To read the whole interview, and Stephen's comments in full, go to TheTVAddict.com!
