Alexander Skarsgard Talks About His Upcoming Projects

With filming of Season 3 of True Blood wrapped, many of the actors have already started other projects.  Alexander Skarsgard will be very busy during his hiatus from True Blood.  He sat down with Unt.se for an interview, which was translated by Askarsgard.com, and talked about his life in Los Angeles and some of his upcoming projects. In the interview, Alex says he misses living in Sweden and he refuses to buy a house in Los Angeles because he's not quite sure when he might get the urge to move back home.  He is currently in Sweden filming Lars von Trier's Melancholia and he is enjoying being home.  Alex's father Stellan Skarsgard is also in the movie but they have very few scenes together.  He can't reveal much about the movie because von Trier is strict about keeping his movies under wraps, but he does say:
"Yes, there is a wedding and I get married to Kirsten Dunst and I am very much in love. I'm very happy – at the beginning"
During down time from filming Melancholia, Alex had to go to a production studio to sync some lines from Season 3, Episode 11 of True Blood.  The studio was sweltering hot and the technical aspects left a lot to be desired by Alex says he is not complaining:
"It would never occur to me to whine. I am so incredibly grateful to have a job. Most of the people in the actor's union in the United States have no job, and I've been there."
Alex recently finished filming the remake of Straw Dogs and after finishing Melancholia he will head to Hawaii to start filming Battleship.  Pop star Rihanna will be co-starring in the movie but Alex admits that he knows very little about her.  His film Puss, which will be called Trust Me for the North America theaters, will be released August 20th, 2010 in Sweden.  The North American release date has not yet been set.  In that film, Alex and his brother Gustaf both have starring roles however they do not share a single scene together.  Filming of Puss hit a major stumbling block when the director, Johan Kling, suffered from burn out part way through so filming was suspended for over a year.  Filming restarted while Alex was working on Straw Dogs in Louisiana, so he had to fly to Sweden for 3 days to finish the film and then fly back to Louisiana for Straw Dogs.  He considers Puss to be the hardest experience he's had as an actor so far. It looks like we will be seeing a lot more of Alex in the next couple of years between True Blood and his upcoming films!
