"True Blood" Stars Or Icons?

This week the "True Blood" cast made their way back to the studio to start filming season three of the hit HBO series, just as many shows are preparing for hiatus for the holiday season. Leave it to maverick Alan Ball to realize his creative genius by preparing fans for what they know will be another great season. Season one made us fall in love with some of the characters, especially Jason, Sookie and Tara. Season two gave us some of the best story lines in television history. I remind fans that their dislike of Maryann was because of the actress's great talent to be so evil on-screen. Season three, look out. Werewolf, new vampire characters and yes, a return of the same standbys we have grown to love and appreciate.

Alexander-Skarsgard-long-hair Trubies have been posting their feelings for weeks since the end of season three. Amber N. Mcmanes say's "I'm having withdrawals. Can't wait for 'True Blood' season three." Amanda Santiago stated, "What! Season three of 'TB' in June? But my due date is in June. Gosh, I hope I can hold the baby in until after I watch it. LOL." Fan Kimberly Cavalier said, "I cannot wait! Sookie and Bill need to get married." Fans got their wish during the final episode of season two when Bill proposed to Sookie and he then went missing before she could give him her answer. Yet another great climax which Alan Ball is known for. Stars like Ryan Kwanten who made a splash in his native Australia are seeing super-stardom appear on their horizon. Kwanten as Jason Stackhouse, the hick from Bon Temps who doesn't seem to be able to stay out of trouble, and then there is Alexander Skarsgard who hails from Sweden and was named their sexiest man alive five times, who now has millions of fans world-wide due to his character Eric's popularity and powerful presence as the 1,000 year old Viking god. These two men embody what young stars in Hollywood work so hard for. They enjoy great opportunities to work with creative geniuses, receive lots of fan appeal that cross every demographic group in entertainment and an ability to touch the audience in such a visceral way and on so many levels that it changes their status from star to icon. That's what these two actors have going for them. And each one seems to honor it and respect their fans and the show's viewers.

One of Skarsgard's biggest fans who calls herself Pbartteacher says, "Yes, we do love all of our 'True Blood' characters and actors. And of course, we do have our favorites. I am glad to see the picture you used [Canyon News, 'The One's We Love'] of Alexander Skarsgard/Eric Northman. Can that man rock at black tank or what? All shoulders. What's not to love there? You are right about his brilliance in front of the camera. His star continues to shine brighter and brighter." "True Blood" fans or Trubies as they are called by HBO have been able to articulate and describe their love and admiration for the series and all of the stars who seem to capture their attention and support better than any critic ever has. Jack Albright concluded, "I went to the Dr. today and he said I have a severe case of Sookie on the Brain. It won't start to heal until June 13, 2010." That's when "True Blood's season three begins to air. SOURCE: Tommy Garrett at Canyon News (Photo credit:  HBO Inc. and Link 81 Collection)
