True Blood's lovely vampire Queen of Louisiana, Sophie-Anne Leclerq, better known as actress Evan Rachel Wood, did a photo shoot for Flaunt Magazine that was photographed and taped by Yu Tsai, the photographer for the event. Ms. Wood gave us some seriously cool tidbits about herself, including how people call her voice "vintage," which she blames on listening to a lot of Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, and Patty Paige. She also admitted to being a huge David Bowie fan, to the point that she has a David Bowie tattoo: the Aladdin Sane lightning bolt, on her upper left thigh. (I have to say right on to that, as David is one of my idols, and I have a crush on him as his alter-ego Jareth from the 1985 movie Labyrinth.) Apparently, Evan likes a LOT of music. She also counts Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and many other bands among her favorites. Now on to the actual vampire stuff. Evan says that she's "always thought of vampires as romantic, sexy, scary, and dangerous." She also claims that those words describe her pretty well too. Evan talked about the first time that she tried out for anything vampire related, which was for Interview with the Vampire. She got as far as the screen test, but ultimately did not get the part, which lead to her dream to be a vampire, which has now been fulfilled by True Blood. Evan is thrilled to be Sophie-Anne, since she's waited for so long for her own special pair of fangs. This video shoot was done back in August 2009. You don't have to listen to me, though.
