Anna Paquin's Driving Music

At 27, True Blood's Anna Paquin just recently learned how to drive.  And now that she's more confident behind the wheel, it was time to incorporate some good driving music.  But being fully engaged in filming Season 3 of True Blood, Anna told BlackBookMag.com that she has been too busy to look for songs herself. This is where Anna's fiance and True Blood vampire boyfriend, Stephen Moyer comes in.  Stephen has a large music library for Anna to select from.  "I think he has half of iTunes on his computer."  So what's on her playlist and why?  According to Anna, her taste in music hasn't really changed over the years.  Here are her picks. "Teeth" by Lady Gaga.  How appropriate is this for her HBO hit series, True Blood?! "The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson.  According to Anna, she was a bit goth as a teen, and this song has been a favorite since she was 14. "Talk Show Host" by Radiohead.  A long time fan of this group, Anna finally got to see them in concert recently, with Stephen.  Previously, every time she bought tickets to one of their concerts, a job came along that sent her too far away to attend. "Jackson" by Johnny Cash and June Carter.  This was the song Anna and her vocal coach used to get Sookie's accent just right for her audition for the role in True Blood.  They listened to June's "sassy Southern galtype voice" and thought it would be perfect. "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon.  Because it's good rock music. "Wreck of the Day" by Anna NalickAnna uses sweet, sad songs to help her get into that type of mood on the set.  This one is on her "make me cry" playlist. "Toxic" by Mark RonsonAnna thinks this is a pretty funny cover of a Britney Spears song. "Bukowski" by Modest Mouse.  She hasn't read anything by Charles Bukowski, but she likes this song.  Anna professed that she's not very book smart.  "I'd rather ride my bike to the beach." "Crazy in Love" by The Puppini SistersAnna said she was obsessed with this song, a throwback to the 1960's by an "electrosinging trio".  The subtitle is "The Real Tuesday Weld Remix". "Parting Gift" by Fiona Apple.  To quote Anna:
"I've loved her for so many years.  She's an icon for sad-girl singer-songwriters everywhere.  I don't think you're allowed to be a tortured teen, in the most on-the-nose pretentious way possible, without having listened to Fiona Apple.  This song has interesting insight into relationships—but not the one I'm in right now."
It's obvious that Anna loves music.  Her choices are clearly her own and we're happy that she is now able to listen to some good driving music. SOURCE: blackbookmag.com (Photo credit - Peggy Sirota via blackbookmag.com)
