Have you heard of the
Pixel Project? It's a campaign by a non-profit organization with the goal of raising $1 million to aid the
Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) Malaysia and
the
USA's National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV). The focus is on male celebrities in order "to demonstrate that men have a major role to play in breaking the cycle of violence against women." In this online fundraiser, 4 to 6 mystery male celebrities, who are known globally as positive role models and are from different walks of life, will have their images put into an online collage containing a million pixels. As a donation, each pixel will be sold for $1.00 each. With each pixel sale, a portion of the online image will be revealed. The Pixel Project has launched their first
Voters' Choice Celebrity Male Role Model campaign, through which a worldwide audience votes in a poll and signs an online petition to persuade an actor to join the current line-up of Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners. Now it's time for us to select our favorite actor from among those who are listed and one of them is
Alexander Skarsgard of
HBO's hit series,
True Blood. What you should do:
Click here to vote and sign an online petition to persuade
Alexander to participate. The top two nominees with the most votes will be sent the petition letter inviting them to donate 45 minutes of their time to have their picture taken for the collage and to join the global community in saying "It's time to stop Violence Against Women. Together." We'll learn who won during the latter part of this year. To read more about this project go to

Alexander has participated in
