Carrie Preston who plays Merlotte waitress, Arlene Fowler, on True Blood recently attended the Race to Erase MS at the Kitson Melrose Boutique on Saturday, May 1, 2010. MS survivor and advocate, Nancy Davis kicked off May's MS Awareness month with a party at the Kitson Boutique, and she did it with the help of a newly formed junior committee that is just as devoted to the cause. This group of Los Angeles high school students formed a junior committee to raise funds and awareness for MS because they were so inspired by Nancy's dedication to finding a cure for this disease. The students were involved in all the planning details and also hosted the event. The event also sported many "orange" items which were on sale to help raise funds. Orange is the color that represents hope in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. Kitson Boutique will continue to sell the orange items which ranged from T-shirts to flip-flops for the rest of the month of May. Carrie showed her support by sporting a newly picked up pair of flip-flops at the event. One hundred percent of all sales will go to benefit the foundation. Kitson will also donate 1% of all their stores regular sales to the Nancy Davis Foundation as well. SOURCE: Nancy Davis Foundation (Photo credit: Suan Alexander/PR Photos)
