True Blood: Everyone Wants Sookie

Stephen Moyer was recently interviewed about the new season of True Blood by Zap2It, and the lovely Bill Compton had a lot to say about many topics, including Sookie, Lorena, and being Bill. The interview opened up with Stephen commenting on Bill and Sookie's relationship and what Bill is currently going through in it:
"Everybody wants a piece of Sookie. And you know Bill is super protective. And, with all love he is a bit paranoid as well. I think Bill feels that the world is closing in and trying to take away the one thing that he loves."
A very strong opinion, and most likely warranted, as we saw in the premiere episode of True Blood Season 3. Of course, that's only one thing that Bill is going to have to worry about this season... After all, Lorena's coming back too. No one yet knows if Lorena is behind Bill's current predicament, but Stephen says that if he were coming to the show as an outsider, she would definitely be a candidate in his eyes for being the kidnapper. After all, she still doesn't seem to get that Bill doesn't want to be with her! Stephen also commented on how we're going to see a lot of supernatural beings during this season of True Blood. In fact, with all the new cast that will be on the show, Stephen and others have said that the cast is bigger than the cast of Ben Hur (and they have a lot more secrets per character too)! These new characters aren't all that Bill has to worry about though. With his being kidnapped, there are other men who have their eyes on Sookie. Eric is of course one of them, and Stephen says that Bill worries about Eric's interest in Sookie because he feels that Eric has ulterior motives in wanting Sookie. But there's more to it than that. Bill is very young in the vampire hierarchy, unlike Eric, who has a position of power. Bill is stuck in what he can do to prevent Sookie from ending up with someone who doesn't have her best interests at heart. Stephen also talked about his favorite scene from True Blood this season. Of course, it hasn't aired yet, but he claims that he's a small part of it. Apparently, this scene focuses on one of the actresses on the show and is a huge plot turner that will be talked about for years and years to come. The production values of the scene (as well as the rest of the show) are also incredible, according to Stephen, who would love to direct an episode of True Blood at some point in the future. Of course, we don't know if Stephen will ever direct an episode, but he does say that even if he doesn't do it for True Blood, he will direct something else in the future.
