True Blood creator Alan Ball is scheduled to sit down with "At the Movies" co-host Elvis Mitchell for "UpClose" a live conversation, which will be recorded and broadcast live on KCRW.com and NPR.org on October 14th. KCRW and NPR in collaboration created "UpClose" a series of live conversations featuring on-air personalities with leading figures in popular culture. The event, which will include clips of Ball's work, a conversation and audience questions, will take place at NPR West in Culver City, California. Fans of Alan Ball and True Blood can purchase tickets for the event, which cost $35, at kcrw.com/upclose starting Wednesday, September 22nd. Audience members will not only be able to submit questions, but are also invited to a hosted reception before the event, where complimentary drinks will be provided. The tickets, which are in limited quantities, are first-come, first-serve. If you don't get to purchase tickets or won't be in the Culver City area October 14th, have no fear, because you can listen live on the web for free.
