Sam Trammell Donates a Once in a Lifetime Experience for Charity

True Blood Set Visit and Lunch up for Auction

Sam TrammellTrue Blood Season 4 may still be a long way off, but Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte) has just donated an experience to charitybuzz.com that may make the waiting a little bit easier. The actor recently offered up a visit to the True Blood set and lunch with the cast and crew for the lucky winner and a guest.

According to the auction listing, the once in a lifetime experience will benefit Children Mending Hearts. The organization is described as a "global arts exchange" between at risk children here in the United States and those in conflict zones around the world. Through the exchange, the goal is for children to develop their own voice and to promote peace from the dialogue they participate in with others. Sounds like a very worthwhile organization!

The terms of the auction state that both the winner and guest must be 18 years-old or over, that the visit will be arranged at a mutually agreeable time, and that the presence of your favorite actors cannot be guaranteed on the day that you visit.

If you can't resist passing up this unique experience, click on the source link below. But don't wait too long to place your bid! The auction ends next Tuesday, January 11, 2011. For those truebies who would like to show their support for Children Mending Hearts, click on the secondary source link below for more information and to donate.

Good luck to all who participate!

True Blood's Lindsay Pulsipher Heads to the Woods Again in The Oregonian

Calvin Reeder's Short Film to Debut at Sundance:

True Blood's Lindsay Pulsipher, who plays Crystal Norris, plays a lost woman in the new short film The OregonianSome things are better left unsaid and kept to the imagination. However, if you're filmmaker Calvin Reeder, leaving things to the imagination means something completely insane and often disgusting is going to happen. Reeder's new film, 'The Oregonian', stars True Blood were-panther Lindsay Pulsipher (Crystal Norris) as a woman lost in the deep dark woods trying to escape her past, her mind, and well, her life. Pulsipher is no stranger to Reeder's disturbing creativity. She has appeared in several of his short films and has admitted that things can get very bizarre when you sign on to work with the underground horror shock filmmaker. The film's synopsis explains:
There is a place. A place where the skies are wide and the forests are thick--and strange. You can lose yourself forever in these woods. You'll meet truckers with problems and old women with strange powers. You may even make a furry friend. Just be sure to stay quiet. Spend some time with a woman from Oregon who is lost on the road and running away from her past. Now she has a chance to experience everything the grotesque Northwest has to offer, whether she likes it or not.
The Oregonian will debut at the Sundance Film Festival January 20-30, 2011 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The complete list of films is available at here. Check out the trailer for 'T [...]

Kevin Alejandro Returns to Southland

From Bon Temps to Los Angeles

Kevin Alejandro as Nate Moretta 1Kevin Alejandro (Jesus Velasquez) is quite the busy man it seems. The man behind the character responsible for stealing the heart of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) is also a series regular on the TNT show Southland. The series, which is set to premiere its third season on January 4th, has our favorite caretaker taking on a different role, this time as LA detective Nate Moretta. According to the show's website, the character is a detective in the gangs unit, was a private in the army, and is married with three children. The website Daemon's TV.com has posted pictures from the premiere episode of the season and I must say it's a nice change to see Alejandro in a different role from what we've seen in True Blood. The photos featuring the actor in episode one are also posted here. Click the source link below for more episode stills.  Kevin also made several appearances on the NBC show Parenthood in the first half of the 2010-2011 TV season.

But fear not truebies! Jesus will be in Bon Temps full time during season four according to IMDb. So who knows what kind of  trouble the character, who revealed himself to be a witch last season, will find himself in during this upcoming season. However, if you can't wait to see more of the charming Kevin Alejandro, be sure to check out Southland!

A Bon Temps Cold Front

What up tricks? Ya boy, Lafayette, just had to tell ya about something real crazy Jason done now. I was closing up Merlotte's last night, right? I'm in the freezer putting up some meat I had just got through marinating when all of a sudden, he come running up in dere talkin' bout how fine dis chic outside is. You probably thinking what's unusual with dat – we all know Jason girl crazy. But what came next was nothing but crazy – crazier than Andy when he gets in da sauce. I had dat door propped open wit a couple of cases of tomatoes. Next thing I know, Jason talkin' bout how dis woman fine and she a public school teacher and all kinds of other crazy stuff. Here's how our conversation went: Me: Nah, Jason – what you gonna do wit a public school teacher? She obviously got a education and probably want a man that got one too. You ain't event decide yet whether you gonna go to college or not. Jason: She's cute, Lafayette. I went up to the bar to another beer and she was giving me the eye from afar. Me: More like, she probably had something in her eye. What she want wit a fool like you, Jason? For real. Jason: Well, I bet you 5 bucks she gonna go out wit me when I ask her. Me: She gonna ask have you lost yo mind, Jason. She probably know all about you takin' care of dat girl's family in Hotshot. You know it don't take long here for da gossip to make its rounds. Jason: Oh yeah, Lafayette? Well you just wait and see. She'll go out with me if I ask her. She won't be able to resist that Stackhouse charm. Me: Stackhouse charm? Shoot, I bet if you brought Sookie round here, she could listen in on dat teacher's thoughts and she could tell you what kind of dang fool she think you are. Jason: Oh, whatever Lafayette. Watch Jason in action. I'm bout to go out here and ask her on a date. Me: Whatever you do, don't shut dat door, Jason. I won't be able to get outta here. Jason: Like I'd do dat Lafayette. Me: You best not do it. I don't want to have to hurt you up in here. It's as cold as a mug up in here and youse know ya boy don't do cold. And dat's when da craziness started. Jason walked out da freezer and saw dat teacher coming toward him. He ran back into da freezer after pushing away da tomatoes and he shut dat dang door! Me: What da hell, Jason? What da hell? Jason: I panicked, Lafayette. I saw that beautiful woman coming toward me and I panicked. I wasn't ready to ask her out. I was just going to admire her from afar and then maybe later on, I'd buy her a drink or something. Man, I was just playing – I wasn't really gonna ask her out, but I wasn't expecting to see her coming to talk to me, either. Me: You fool. She was going to the ladies room. You know it's right outside here. Jason: Nah, I think she was checking me out. She probably wanted to make sure she got a chance to talk to me before Merlotte's closed. That's when I walked over to the door and pulled on it and it was locked – from the outside. Now here we are in a 30 degree freezer and no way to get out. I started yelling and screaming and beating on the door, but no one heard me. Of all times to leave my cell phone in da kitchen! Me: Gimme ya cell phone fool! Jason: I left it on the bar, I think. *Jason digs around in his pockets, but comes up wit nothing* Me: Are you kidding me? Ya fool! You really are a fool! I told ya not to close dat door, didn't I? What we gone do now? We gone freeze up in here! Jason: We gonna be OK. We gonna just yell and somebody will hear us. 30 minutes later, here we are literally freezing to death and ain't nobody heard us and ain't nobody helping us. Me: Thanks a lot ya idiot. We gonna die up in her. Sam ain't posed to be back until 7 in da morning and we trapped here now – it ain't nothing but about 2 in da morning. We got another 5 hours in here. *30 minutes later Jason gets a brilliant idea* Jason: Lafayette, Grams used to always tell us if we ever got stranded in a car in a snowstorm, that you should take off all your clothes and snuggle up with whoever's with you. She said that the body heat would keep you from freezing to death. Lafayette: Why in da hell would Grams tell you dat? You live in Louisiana, fool. You probably never even seen snow, much less would ya ever get caught in a snowstorm. Jason: Well, it's worth a try. We gonna freeze to death in here for sure. I (reluctantly) agreed and what followed was about da craziest damned thang that's ever happened. Jason and I took off our clothes and tried to warm up. Next thang I know, we done fallen asleep on da floor of da freezer. I look up right, and what do I see? A pair of red stilletos and some skinny jeans. I jumped so hard I threw Jason off me. It was da sexy teacher he got a crush on. She said she got half way home when she realized dat she left her purse on da bar. When she came back in, everybody was gone, but nothin' was locked up. She thought dat was strange and den she saw Jason cell phone on da bar. Since dey been having some strange occurrences in Bon Temps, she decided to check and make sure everybody was OK. She opened da freezer and there we were, naked as da day we came into dis world! By now, Jason was awake and was trying to explain. Heehee, you shoulda heard dis mess dat was comin outta his mouth. He'd a done better to just let her think we were snuggling for real. *Shakes head* Dat Jason, I tell ya. He can get himself in more than a little bit of trouble!

Evan Rachel Wood Becomes the Ultimate Bad Girl in Mildred Pierce

Evan Returns to HBO in a New Mini-Series

Evan Rachel WoodThe lovely and talented Evan Rachel Wood has made Vampire Queen Sophie Anne Leclerq a character to watch on True Blood. While we must wait until June to see what happened to our beloved queen, Evan will be returning to HBO in the miniseries Mildred Pierce which begins in March. She will play Vida Pierce, daughter of the title character Mildred Pierce, played by Oscar winner Kate Winslet. The series is a "re-imagining" of the original 1945 movie which starred Joan Crawford in the title role. If you can't seem to get enough of Wood as Sophie Anne, just wait until you see Mildred Pierce. Referred to as one of the most detestible characters of all time, Vida is a talented singer whose mother will give anything and sacrifices everything to assure her daughter a place in society. The mini-series is set in the 1920s and will give Wood the opportunity to showcase her beautiful singing voice not to mention her fantastic acting chops. Although there is still very limited information about the project available, a trailer has been released on YouTube and a teaser has been posted at HBO.com. The trailer which I've posted below depicts Evan Rachel Wood's character as a very beautiful and extremely talented singer who does not care what her mother has to do in order to keep her in the spotlight. Even if it means marrying someone she doesn't love. I know I'm looking forward to seeing Evan Rachel Wood take on Vida. How about you? True Blood Episode Makes TV Guide's Top 25 of 2010

"I Got A Right To Sing The Blues" Makes TV Guides Best Episodes of 2010

All of us Trubies can agree Season 3 was a spectacular season of True Blood.  TV Guide agrees with us as well naming episode 6 "I Got A Right To Sing The Blues" as number 13 on it's list of Top 25 Best Episodes of 2010.  They said:
"The whole thing felt like the kind of cliff-hanger usually saved for finales."
That it did.  Episode six involved Tara's daring skull shattering escape from Franklin, Russell's success in forcing Sophie Ann to marry him and ordering Bill's death via Lorena, and Lorena finally getting a bite out of Sookie.  It was a pretty pivotal episode that season and the good people at TV Guide recognized it's one of the best of 2010.
