TrueBloodNet.com's Interview with Twitter's Vampire Jessica @MadeJessica Part 2

Here's the rest of the interview with Jessica! (Continued from Part 1) Isis: How do you think Season 3 coming up in a month is going to affect you as Jessica? @MadeJessica: I can't wait, i'm SO excited! From what I've seen of the previews and minisodes, seeing how Jess deals with being on her own as a vampire is going to be SO cool. I think season 3 will give me a good blueprint of where I can go. Isis: What did you think of the spoiler clips we've seen so far about Jessica? @MadeJessica: Whoever heads HBO's advertising department is a genius. Waiting really does suck and these teasers appease and yet still drive me nuts. It's like giving people the effects of V withdrawal without having to down a drop. As for the clips? I LOVE them. They made me feel good about the way I play Jessica, because while she can get REALLY serious and be VERY deadly, she will always make a window for fun, be it making someone yell they ahve a boner for Jesus or, sitting in Eric's chair to se how big his buttgroove is. Isis: *shaking my head and laughing* Only a teenager would do that! @MadeJessica: I'm also very excited to see if Jess has some Pam time. I think Jess looks up to Pam immensely. Isis: Yes, and that may be part of the reason why she likes going to Fangtasia so much! @MadeJessica: Pam's glamorous, deadly, powerful... Everything Jess wants to get a grip on with her new fangs, but don't tell her; I think Pam would shut the poor kid out if she knew she was unwittingly being made into a mentor. Isis: Pam is a great character, and your group's Pam has just the right attitude! She's even flirted with me! @MadeJessica: *jealous!* If she flirted with me, I'd wear that like a badge. She's FANTASTIC! Isis: Yes... Her and Eric both! @MadeJessica: Oh, Eric is wow... Playing to him is a great challenge for me, as he is SO in character. It's a constant and he has nailed down the persona at a bullseye rate. He makes role playing so much fun, just like everyone else in our group and our fans. Isis: That's awesome. Anyways... what do you think of Jessica and Sookie's relationship? @MadeJessica: Sookie is just so sweet and I find that she falls easy into a mothering role. She's had to do that with Jason I suspect as a kid with how he "thinks" or more specifically doesn't, so she's VERY patient with Jess and Jess actually likes her and can not figure out HOW or WHY she's with Bill. Isis: You'd think Jessica's relationship with Hoyt might explain it a little better for her! @MadeJessica: You'd THINK but, I dont think Jess would compare Hoyt to Bill; I think that would upset and gross her out and she'd probably feel even worse if someone said she was Bill in that pairing. It helps that playing with @Sookie_BT is always an enjoyable experience. She's REALLY good at the part and so it makes me fall into Jessica quite easily. Isis: What's it like being a character who isn't from the books? @MadeJessica: GREAT! On the one hand, it gives me more wiggle room to write but bad in that, since I own the whole series INCLUDING the new book. If she was in the book, I could have reference material that I did not have to plug in and press play. Alan Ball's made some very interesting creative decisions that I really like. Isis: With season 3 coming up, there will be a lot of new characters introduced, like Alcide. How do you think Jessica will react to him? And how will she react to Sookie getting closer to guys other than Bill? @MadeJessica: She will be extremely intrigued by him because he's different. Way different than the other people she's come in contact with in Bon Temps. I think she will be rather confused at Sookie's reaction to him but she won't ask any questions. Sometimes Jess CAN shut up and watch, and I think with Sookie and Alcide she will watch to see what happens and then depending on the outcome, then she'll ask her questions. I like that about Jess too, when people think she's not watching or listening, she is, she just never thinks things are important until she has to use them. So telling her to drink Tru:Blood in place of the real stuff because it'll help the human community be less afraid is kind of hard because she figures, 'who cares, I don't have to kill them and I can glamour them to not remember and SOME people even offer themselves, so why bother wit the fake stuff?' I think meeting Hoyt has made her consumption of Tru:Blood mean something. Isis: Yes… Speaking of, what did you think of Hoyt and Jessica's break up at the end of Season 2? @MadeJessica: I felt SO bad for the both of them, I understood where Hoyt was coming from, but I also understood how hurt Jess felt. I remember watching that whole thing and going "uh oh." Isis: I think we all reacted like that. @MadeJessica: A hurt Jessica is never good for anyone, but Hoyt is such a sweetie! Even when Dawn died and Sookie's listening to peoples' thoughts and gets to his, then his reaction to getting a kiss ont he cheek… SO cute I'm also curious to see how he deals with the truth of his father's death. The layers Alan Ball adds to his characters—I love it! Isis: Me too! Oh! About the Twittersodes... Where are we going to see Jessica? @MadeJessica: She's gonna grow up a bit. She won't lose that fun edge but she's gonna end up seeing that things for Bill aren't as easy as she thought. Isis: Wow. @MadeJessica: Yeah, I'm really excited. This Hoyt thing is giving Jessica that window to see into Bill's world. She will of course maintain that she's not as clueless as Bill is with Sookie sometimes. Isis: Yep. @MadeJessica: Twittersodes are SO much fun! They're kind of scary for me, only in that my nerves go NUTS for like 10 minutes before they kick off and then when it starts, I'm fine. It's like jumping in a pool without doing that dip your foot in first to see how cold it is. Isis: *laughing* Do your fans ever take you to be the Jessica we see on True Blood? @MadeJessica: Yes, but it isn't in an awkward way; they don't think I'm Deborah Ann Woll, but to have them feel comfortable enough to see the television protrayal of Jessica to my text based portrayal is rather flattering and inspiring. Isis: have you gotten any weird comments aimed at Jessica? @MadeJessica: Yeah, people always want me to turn them, which I find hilariously weird considering how Jessica was made, I don't know if she'd want to repeat that to anyone. I've also gotten some offers for real blood… They're from people either offering themselves or people they aren't fond of. And it's not just that. Despite being a loaded gun, a lot of the fans would like to hang out with her, which I find so interesting because you never know when Jess is gonna get all fangy but it seems like people are willing to risk it just to have a few words with her. Isis: There's something about her that's just amazing. @MadeJessica: And amusing. I think that for me, she'd probably poke at my trepidation. Give her an inch and Jess will take a mile. Isis: *smiling* Anything else you'd like to tell us? @MadeJessica: Yes! here's the link to Jessica's journal where she gets all "This isn't fair!" Oh! And I'm pretty addicted to TrueBloodNet.com, no joke. I NEVER trust any True Blood gossip until I know that TrueBloodNet has posted it! Isis: Thank you for such a high compliment! @MadeJessica: It's the truth. TrueBloodNet.com gets me the most clicks in my stream! I love you guys! Isis: Again, thank you so much! And thank you for such a wonderful interview! @MadeJessica: This has been so much fun!
As always, for those of you interested in checking out the role playing (which I highly recommend because this group is so good), you can find a list of the current group of role players on their website, twittertrueblood.webs.com, which can be found under the Character navigation link. True Blood Cast's "Must Have" List in Marie Claire

Rutina Wesley, Joe Manganiello and Sam Trammell are featured in the June issue of Marie Claire where the magazine asked them what would be their "must have" list of music, movie and TV show to take with them to a desert island. Joe stated that for a DVD it would have to be Fight Club because it "sums up the struggle of my generation. Men descended from virile hunters, reduced to picking out duvet covers." For music it would have to be Collect by Massive Attack and for the TV Box Set of course it would have to be True Blood. As Joe says, "It way my favorite show before, so why change?" Rutina mentioned that her "must have" movie to take with her would be Notting Hill and music to listen to would be Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutis because as Rutina says "my husband and I took a road trip along the coast and played this over and over." For a TV Box Set to watch it would have to be In Living Color (season 1) because she just loved acting out Jim Carrey's Fire Marshall Bill and Jamie Foxx's Wanda. Sam on the another hand would take as a DVD Andrew Dice Clay Live! The Diceman Cometh to scare any wild animals away while listening to Gilberto by Stand Getz & Joao Gilberto to chill out to. As for a TV Box Set to enjoy it would have to be I Dream of Jeannie, which according to Sam, "probably not as good as Bewitched, but it's got more cleavage." Don't forget to get your copy which is available on newsstands now. SOURCE:  Marie Claire Photo Credit: Albert L. Ortega / PR Photos

Ryan Kwanten's Nudity Advice

Ryan Kwanten got a reprieve this season when it comes to nudity. Unlike Seasons 1 and 2 of True Blood, where Ryan's character Jason Stackhouse was naked a lot, in Season 3, Ryan says that the nudity mantle has been moved to some of his male costars. However, even that change still left Ryan with a new position on set. He has now become the go-to guy on set for questions his costars have about nude scenes. And the best advice Ryan has for men who do nude scenes?
"Tie the "modesty sock" on really tight, because you don't want that thing coming off, because there will be evidence of that forever."
Come on, Ryan! Don't tease your female fans like that! SOURCE: People.com (Image Credit: HBO Inc.)

Celebrating Anna Paquin's Arms

Anna Paquin was picked as one of the 10 best celebrity arms. This is an awesome feat because some other lovely ladies that joined in at the top were Kate Hudson, Kelly Ripa, and Evangline Lilly. This was awarded to Anna Paquin by blisstree.com. They commented about Anna's arms saying,
"...that if you spend your days battling maenads on HBO's True Blood, you're bound to get buff. We're looking forward to seeing Anna's arms in action again this summer."
Anna Paquin is best known as Sookie Stakehouse in Alan Ball's hit True Blood which premieres its 3rd season on June 13th. Anna, great job on those HOT arms and let's all go sleeveless in celebration! SOURCE: blisstree.com (Photo credit: Reuters)

True Blood Season 3: Carrie Preston Discusses Expanding Cast

True Blood Season 3 is going to be full with so many new story lines and new faces that Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler) puts fans' concerns that it may be too much to follow at ease. As she stated to Fancast.com,
"I would go to the table reads and there would be 30 people sitting there, and I thought, 'How are they going to juggle this?' And then we saw the first episode cut together and they totally pulled it off...I just have to trust," she says of the influx of fresh meat (so to speak). "We're in good hands."
In the video below Carrie states that season 3 will "unspool at breakneck speed" with new supernaturals and still take the time to visit the "emotional places" with the human characters on the show. True Blood Season 3: Cast Having a Ball

It seems unanimous that the cast and creator of HBO's blockbuster series, True Blood, are having a blast.  Not just because the fan base doubled during Season 2, but because they never know what's coming at them next. Anna Paquin, the main character, Sookie Stackhouse, said in an article on USAToday.com that there's no way to get bored on this show.  Because just when you think you've done it all, "something weirder and wilder comes out of the woodwork". And Season 3 promises to provide that weirder and wilder scenario.  While the season will somewhat follow Charlaine Harris' third book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, Club Dead, we will certainly be seeing lots of werewolves in addition to vampires and other supernaturals. We fans can only wait until Season 3 airs on June 13. The cast is already having fun on the set.  According to Kristin Bauer van Straten, vampire Pam, she received a phone call to come in for a coffin fitting.  Stephen Moyer, Sookie's vampire boyfriend Bill Compton, was delighted with the real wolves brought to the set.  "They're extraordinary creatures.  They never stop moving.  They're enormous and powerful." Creator Alan Ball is also having, well, a ball!
"It is so much fun.  If you had told me I would be doing a vampire show with werewolves and would be having more fun than I'd had in my life, I would have said, 'You're high."
As a screenwriting Oscar winner (for American Beauty), Alan is well aware of the necessity of keeping the characters grounded.
"We might as well have a sign in the writers' room that says, 'It's the emotions, stupid.'  We try to make sure the characters' emotional lives are what's driving the story.  Otherwise, it's set pieces and special effects.  We have such good actors that they can play the romance, the yearning, the weaknesses, the upsets, the disappointments and the triumphs."
So what about the plot for Season 3Deborah Ann Woll, teen vampire Jessica, marvels at the new faces around the script reading table and said it feels like there are several shows going on simultaneously.  In some respects, she's correct. We have one storyline with Sookie trying to find the seemingly kidnapped Bill.  Within that story is the assignment of werewolf Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) by vampire sheriff Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) to assist Sookie. According to Alexander, Eric hates werewolves.  "In his opinion, werewolves are very primitive, stupid, disgusting, not sophisticated.  After a while, you'll find out there's a deeper reason he hates them." Shapeshifter Sam Merlotte, played by Sam Trammell, is in a search for his biological parents - another main story this season.  And he's in for surprises (as if last season wasn't enough for the poor doggy).  He kind of opens a Pandora's box.  "But he can't put the top back on the box." Meanwhile, Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley) and Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) are trying to deal with the death of Tara's boyfriend from last season, who, by the way, was shot and killed by Jason. Thrown into the mix is the vampire politics, which we'll learn a lot more about as we meet the vampire king of Mississippi (Denis O'Hare) as he interacts with the vampire Queen of Louisiana (Evan Rachel Wood). Anna Paquin was asked if she would be interested in continuing with the show if it were to include all of Charlaine Harris' 10-13 books.
"I'd do it until they pull the plug," she says.  "I don't know how long everyone's going to want to watch us running around biting each other and having all the sex and blood, but I think we'll do this until they tell us we have to stop.  It's a dream job."
We have just 2 short weeks for the much anticipated Season 3.  Can we really wait that long?! SOURCE: USAToday.com (Photo credit: HBO Inc.)

Ryan Kwanten in InStyle's Sexiest of Summer Issue

InStyle Magazine photographed a dozen of Hollywood's sexiest stars for their annual Sexy summer issue. Although vampires may not prefer the hot, sunny summer days, three of InStyle's sexiest are some of our favorite vampires! Kellan Lutz, Twilight's Emmett Cullen, and Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, were both included into this summer's sexiest stars. And of course, Ryan Kwanten, True Blood's Jason Stackhouse, lays poolside for his InStyle Sexy summer photoshoot. Although Ryan offers fans some eye candy, he notes that photoshoots are definitely not his favorite part of the job: "I will be keeping my shirt on [for this shoot]. You get enough of that in the show. The Aborigines have a philosophy that photos steal your soul, so I haven't loved photo shoots, but have come to realize they're a necessary evil in my business." Click here for Ryan's online-only photos. The full story and photoshoot will be available  in the InStyle's June issue, which is out now. True Blood and Philosophy: A Book Review

I just had the pleasure of reading True Blood and Philosophy: We Wanna Think Bad Things with You, published by John Wiley & Sons. It's a great book, and one that I think is something all True Blood fans should add to their bookshelves. True Blood and Philosophy takes many aspects of True Blood and breaks them down into several sections, then takes those sections and breaks them down further into singular arguments that are left open for you to think about. The first section of True Blood and Philosophy regarding Vampire/Human Ethics, and is further broken down into the ethics of a vampire turning a human, vampires assimilating into human culture, and the life forms in the True Blood world and their interactions. In this section, I had one major problem with the first chapter. Though it made many good points, it harped on Bill turning Jessica without explaining the reasons behind that incident. For me, that kept me from giving my full attention to the chapter, even though it made several good points both for and against vampires turning humans. Other than that, I found myself completely enjoying this section of the book. The next section of True Blood and Philosophy discusses Vampire Politics. This section breaks down into Social Contracts between humans and vampires, whether or not vampires can be good citizens, and about the "artificiality" of vampires and them becoming involved in human politics. Once again, this was a great selection to read, and everything written had me questioning both True Blood and my own beliefs in real life. Following Vampire Politics in True Blood and Philosophy is a section about the Eros, Sexuality, and Gender in True Blood, and more specifically discusses the Coming out of the Coffin/Coming out of the Closet perspective of the show, Sookie and Feminism, and Sookie and Freud. For me, the section discussing Freud and the Edible complex was the hardest thing for me to get through, but I really loved the first part of this section, since it also discussed one of the characters in the Sookie books (that we have not met on True Blood) and how when it comes to his sexuality, he's a double-entendre. That section also discusses the use of "God Hates Fangs" as it's used in the opening credits of True Blood. Once again, it made me think about what I was reading and the meaning behind it all. The fourth section of True Blood and Philosophy is about the Natural, Supernatural, and Divine, and is broken down further into a section about sacrifice, scapegoats, and good times, another section questions whether vampires are natural or not, and a third section is devoted entirely to whether or not God hates fangs. My favorite part of this section was the piece discussing the "naturalness" of because it brought up the excellent point about how we as humans define the term natural. The final section of True Blood and Philosophy covers the metaphysics of supernatural beings, and breaks it down further into a vampire's ability to love, keeping secrets from Sookie, and also about how personal identity works for supernatural creatures. In this section, I really enjoyed the final part of this section, as it talked about how we're still the same, even if we are change some of our views. After all, whether a vampire, shifter, were, or human (or anything else), we all have a special kind of magic within us. True Blood and Philosophy is a pretty short book (it's only about 235 pages), but it's filled with tons of information. My best suggestion when reading True Blood and Philosophy is to take your time and read it section by section. Then, take a break and let what you just read, and your own opinions on the topic simmer in your mind before going on to read the next part. This way, you won't become overwhelmed by the whole book. No matter what, True Blood and Philosophy is a great book, so get a copy and enjoy! And once you read it, let us know what are your thoughts of True Blood and Philosophy.

Ryan Kwanten is Territorial About Bon Temps

At the Los Angeles launch of video game Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Ryan Kwanten, as True Blood's Jason Stackhouse, joked about vampires and his fictitious Louisiana town, Bon Temps. Rumor has it that the last two episodes of the Twilight series will be filmed in New Orleans.  Now this is True Blood territory and latimes.com reported Ryan's take on this infringement.  Evidently he has no problem with additional vampires moving into the neighborhood.  However, "Jason" did warn, "We fight dirty down in Bon Temps.  You're dealing with Southern vampires, and we're real dirty." When not talking about or fighting vampires, Ryan said he enjoys video games.  But we'll see him back in Bon Temps when Season 3 airs on June 13th. Source: latimes.com (Photo credit - latimes.com)

Early Review of True Blood Season 3

Hey everyone! Jace at Televisionary has seen the first few episodes of Season 3 of True Blood, and wrote an article about it. It has some light spoilers, but from what he said, it sounds like Season 3 is going to be the BEST True Blood season yet! He even commented that he loves the new cast members and what they add to the story lines for True Blood. In Jace's own words:
It's time once again to invite HBO's gloriously addictive vampire drama True Blood, returning in just a few weeks' time with its third season, back into our homes. Based on the strength of the first three episodes of the season, there's no need for it to use a glamour, as viewers will only be too willing to let it in without a struggle. When we last saw the inhabitants of Louisiana bayou town Bon Temps, they were recovering after their brush with the immortal maenad Maryann (Michelle Forbes) and tensions were running high. When poor, doomed Eggs (Mehcad Brooks) finally remembered the actions he had taken while in her thrall, he sought to make a confession to Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), only to be shot to death by Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten). Elsewhere, Sookie (Anna Paquin) considered a marriage proposal from Bill (Stephen Moyer), only to discover that he had been kidnapped. I had the opportunity to watch the first three episodes of Season Three of True Blood and was quickly sucked back into a world of supernatural intrigue, illicit passion, and seductive darkness.

True Blood's Alcide as a Child's Toy

Sookie Stackhouse is going to have several suitors for season 3 of True Blood, and one of them is Alcide Herveux, played by Joe Manganiello. Alcide is a werewolf hired on by vampire Eric Northman to keep Sookie safe as she searches for her boyfriend Bill. (Eric chooses him because Alcide's a good person and very protective, and he also owes Eric a debt.) Joe sees Alcide as having a lot in common with a famous child's toy; a slinky! Joe explained,
"I describe [Alcide] as a slinky. It's this coiled piece of metal that when it's coiled a certain way, it can walk downstairs and do these amazing things. But if you were to try and straighten that slinky out, it would cease to be special. That's kind of how I see Alcide in a way — he's this amazing creature trying to live within the confines of human society. It's a lonely existence."

New Music Scores for True Blood's Season 3

It appears that HBO's hit series True Blood has many fans among musicians.  Thanks to Jennifer Vineyard's article in Rolling Stone, we learned that the show's producers have recruited an impressive list of top artists for the Season 3 soundtrack. Among those who will be contributing their music - both old and new material - are Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Beck, Robbie Robertson, Lucinda Williams, the Eels and M. Ward.  When asked about the show's appeal, Elvis Costello joked, "Who isn't a fan of nakedness and vampirism?" After providing a demo to Gary Calamar, the show's music supervisor, Lucinda Williams worked closely with Gary and took his suggestion to pair up with Elvis Costello.  Together, Lucinda and Elvis collaborated with True Blood's in-house composer, Nathan Barr, to give their compositions the right mood.  According to Nathan Barr, "Cello is central to the scores that I write.  If there's not some cello or heavy guitar, it won't sound like True Blood." It has not yet been determined which scenes will feature the songs by Lucinda Williams and Elvis Costello.  Season 3 is still in production, although it airs on June 13.  But Lucinda has a request.
"I want it to be a totally hot, steamy, lustful scene between Sookie and Bill," she says. "That would be perfect - Bill comes back, and they have torrid sex. Yes!"
I think we're all in agreement. Source: rollingstone.com (Image Credit: HBO Inc.)

"100 Questions" is a comedy about "a young woman navigating life with friends in New York."Charlotte Payne (played by British actress Sophie Winkleman) begins each episode being asked a question at a dating service, which then "segues into that episode's storyline." True Blood Season 3 Spoilers: 9 Points from Alan Ball

Season 3 of True Blood premieres Sunday, June 13 and it seems that Alan Ball is willing to share more spoilers with the fans. Alan discusses in detail nine points about the show that will have fans speculating and their anticipation for the show's return reaching a fever pitch. SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IT YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW!

As Alan has mentioned before don't expect the characters to have a happily, ever after fairy tale story to it.
"Here's the thing about happiness: It's great in our lives, but it's not really that interesting to watch on television."
As Alan explains he feels that season 3 is going to be the best season up to now and that along with the great core cast, the addition of some new regulars and some guest spot appearances by notables such as Alfre Woodard, who will plays Lafayette's mother, it has been a fun and exciting season put together and he has high hope for it. Though he wasn't willing to giveaway anything he did give nine spoiler points for fans to savor. The Shifters and the Weres: Season 3 will introduce us to weres who we will discover may be different from shapeshifters but share some similarities.. This season we will be meeting several weres that will have significant storylines including werewolf Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello), his ex-girlfriend were Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan), and werewolves Coot (Grant Bowler) and Gus (Don Swayze). While Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) meets his biological family and gets to know his brother Tommy Mickens (Marshall Allman) who may or may not be a shapeshifter. The Town of Hotshot: Readers of the book series are familiar with this town but for those will learn about the residents of this little community.
"We definitely do go to Hotshot. ... We meet Hotshot, we meet the people in Hotshot, we meet Crystal and her father, Calvin," Ball said. Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher) becomes a major love interest for Sookie's brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten). As for the leader of the Hotshot group, Calvin (Gregory Sporleder), "I think our take on Calvin is a little different than the one in the book."
Vampire Rights and Wrongs: Vampire politics will be part of the storyline this season with a closer look at the Vampire Rights Amendment to the Constitution the challenges around it. The Vampire King of Mississippi: Alan states that this year we will meet the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) who will be one of the baddest new regular.  Sharing his storyline will be his boyfriend of 700 years Talbot (Theo Alexander) who as Alan state, have a stable relationship but it is not a model relationship.  Also alot of action this season will take place in Mississippi.
"He's definitely got his reasons for doing things, and I don't think he thinks what he's doing is wrong."
Tara's Scary Vamp Boyfriend: Another baddie this season will be vampire Franklin Mott (James Frain) who gets under Tara Thornton's (Rutina Wesley) psyche, which as Alan describes as personal, terrifying and hot.  The relationship is not classified as a happy one nor a functional one, beyond that Alan would not elaborate. Lafayette's Heart: Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis) will have his own storyline revolving around his mother, Ruby Jean Reynolds (Alfre Woodard), and his new love interest Jesus (Kevin Alejandro).  Alan states that Jesus may be perhaps the first person who really tries to make "a  serious pitch for Lafayette's heart" and the difficulty that Lafayette has with it. The Missing Bill: Alan states we find out right away who kidnapped Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), where he is being held and that he returns back to Bon Temps around the middle of the season.  What happens between Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and Bill since we were left off with Sookie about to accept Bill's marriage proposal before he was kidnapped at the end of season two?  Alan teases us by stating,
"I would say their love is very real. I can't really say whether it is going to last forever, 'cause I don't want to give anything away, but I do think their love is real. I think what they feel for each other is very, very profound."
Alan Ball Is Having Fun: Alan believes that the series can last many years based not only on the fact that there is lots of material to take from the book for ideas but because he enjoys working on the show.
"It continues to be fun, which for me is the most important thing. I would rather have fun on a show that nobody cares about than be miserable on a show that is the biggest hit in the world."
Comic-Con Rock Stars: Alan expresses his disbelief at the enormous success of the show and the tremendous impact it has on fans.  In particular he mentions his experience at Comic-Con last year and how the fans treated the cast and himself as if they were rock stars.
"I never thought the series would be as huge. I didn't really have much experience in the genre world, you know what I mean? I came to it fresh and I thought, 'I think this show will have an audience.' But I've thought that about other things and it didn't really work out that way. I just knew it was a show I would watch, I would be deeply entertained by. I think the amazing growth during the second season in terms of not only the number of viewers, but the passion on the part of the viewers, was really a surprise to me ... a very pleasant one. When we went to Comic-Con last year, when we walked out on stage it was like we were rock stars. ... Well, it was like the cast was rock stars and I was also there," said Ball with a laugh."
So with all these little tidbits has it made you even more anxious for the return of season 3 of True Blood on June 13? SOURCE :  scifiwire.com (Photo credit:  HBO Inc.)

Product Review: Retractable Vampire Fangs

As fans of True Blood, and vampires in general, we sometimes feel the desire to join the ranks of the undead. We all get a little jealous when we watch Eric's fangs descend in a moment of anger.  We wish that we could protect our telepathic girlfriends simply by showing some fang. Finding special effects fangs is not difficult.  A plethora of online sites and Halloween stores make them available.  But it is hard to find quality fangs, unless you dish out the big bucks.  Most fangs look fake, or wear out quickly. Additionally, most fangs are static.  You don't have that extra creepy effect of having them actually descend or retract. Until now. I was made aware of a new set of special effects fangs that claim to be retractable.  They are available at for the low low sale price of $12.95.  Initially I was just going to write a post letting you all know that such a product exists.  I figured we'd all be biting at the neck for legitimate retractableVampFangs.com fangs.  But I thought, "Hey...you work in a haunted house.  These are probably something you should own."  So I bought them, tested them, and now present my findings to you. In theory these fangs are awesome.  By being retractable, they allow you to shock others, just like the vampires from True Blood.  You have the ability to chose when they are visible and when they are hidden.  When they work, they work beautifully. When they work. The fangs are made out of a very flimsy plastic, which means they are bendable.  When I opened the package, the right fang was lower than the left one.  Despite my efforts, I could not get the fangs to even out.  Imagine a pair of glasses that wobble on your face.  That's exactly what it's like. Next comes the issue of how the device actually works.  The fangs themselves are on an axle that extends across the width of your mouth, kind of like if you ever had a spacer.  This axle is actually the mechanism you use to control the fangs.  With one flick of your tongue, the fangs appear.  If you want the fangs to retract, push up on the axle with your tongue and the fangs will slide up and be hidden between your gum and your upper lip. Although this design is neat, it still presents a host of issues.  The first is that it is impossible to talk like a normal human being.  Yes, I know, by wearing fangs I'm not trying to be a human, but still.  It's really hard to pretend to be Eric when you sound like your mouth is full.  If you want to know what it's like talking with these things, put the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth and try to have an intelligent conversation.  Or even just indulge me and try saying Bill's classic line, "I'm here for Sookie." The next issue is that it is hard to wear these fangs for an extended period of time.  In comparison to your gum line, the plastic is sharp.  This past weekend I wore the fangs for about a half hour, in which I moved them up and down at a steady rate.  I still have a cut on my upper gum.  The apparatus is very abrasive.  Additionally, you have to bite into a dental mold so that the fangs are custom fitted for your mouth.  When you wear the fangs, you slide your back teeth into the mold so that the whole apparatus stays in place.  After a while it kind of felt like the whole device was pulling my teeth toward the center of my mouth.  Things started to get uncomfortable.  And saliva-y. Additionally, because the plastic was bent you could see the plastic strip that connected the axle to the actual fang. Therefore, when I let the fangs descend, I looked like a vampire wearing a retainer.  But this was only on the one side.  Also, because the plastic was bent, the fang on that same side had a hard time moving.  Sometimes I'd only have one fang out and I promise I haven't been to see the Magister. All in all, I found a lot of problems with these Special FX fangs.  They have the ability to look great and I'm assuming I wouldn't have had as many complaints if mine were made properly.  But I bought them with the idea of using them in a haunted house to torment guests.  If all you want is to be able to walk around and spook people, then they still might work for you.  But if you wanted to try to use these fangs and talk at the same time, I promise you, you'd have an easier time getting rid of a Maenad. Has anyone else tried them and have different results?  Make sure to leave comments to let us know! Ask Dr. L - Memories

For a small fortune (and the promise of a steady supply of medicinal quality V) TrueBloodNet.com has gotten Dr. L to agree to answer your supernatural medical questions. Ask Dr. L is written by Dr. L (any resemblance to any characters living, dead or undead is purely coincidental), also known as Doctor to the Supernaturals, and was founded by her mother, Philine Paullips. It is the most popular and widely syndicated supernatural medical advice column in this world — or any other. Known for its uncommon nonsense and immortal, or just darn old, perspective. May 26th, 2010
I was watching the episode "I Will Rise Up", and I noticed Bill saying that it takes only one or two drops of blood for a vampire to form a link with a human. My question is if the same logic goes for "V" users. Do we know whether or not a vampire is able to sense any user who takes one or two drops of his blood, even if he/she's never come in contact with that person?
--------

V-Curious,
Well, well...this is an intelligent question! Didn't realize we had some serious thinkers out here, so you are a breath of fresh air! I am usually dealt with fangbangers trying to figure out ways to entice vampires, or shape shifters facing identity crises, etc. Anyhow, yours is an  intelligent, yet fairly easy to answer query. As you have stated,  it only takes a drop or two of blood to form a link with a vampire. It does work both ways to a degree, although the undead seem more keenly in tune with humans who have received their blood than vice versa most times.
However, since V is very concentrated, and has gone through a very rigorous process before it is used- and I had better not hear of it's being used outside of medical practices, you hear me?- it is highly unlikely and of the cell memory would remain. But that has not been fully tested especially in cases where it's taken fresh from the cow, so to speak.
My question to you is, "Why do you ask?". Have you used V outside of medical purposes and you are being drawn to a particular vampire? Hmmmmm????? See, I noticed an omission of a signature, so perhaps you are feeling a bit guilty??? I will hunt you down, you know...

Hey Dr. L,
I'm the coach of a Volleyball team.  The guys work hard at practice but during games, they have no energy or confidence.  Do you know of any of the supes who might rent themselves out to be motivators, or could vampires glamor my players into not being timid?  Hell, you intimidate me over the Internet.  I'll pay you to do it.
Concerned Coach

Dear CC,
Ah, as I am sure you know, I am a sports fan. Not so much for the sports themselves, but for the sheer pleasure of watching those young, strong, toned bodies on a playing field or court or whatever. But you are correct that it takes a certain ferocity and confidence to be winners.
I know you were just trying to flatter me by saying that I intimidate you over the Internet- and I LOVE to be flattered!-and when you mentioned pay, I was already there. But my ever increasingly busy schedule as a world renowned physician, researcher, author, speaker, healer and Cougar just don't allow me the time for this.
I will put the work out to the supernatural community, but here's a head's up- do not, I repeat, NOT trust a blood sucking vampire to help you with anything. They tend to take your money, then turn you into one of them. I'll let you know what I come up with. Thank you so much for the high compliment of saying I am intimidating. I feel it is a gift.

Okay Dr. L,
Have I got a money making idea.  Most vamps are super old.  That means that a lot of them know and have actually have witness incredible things in history.  I'm a historian and you have a lot of good connections. What if we worked together to actually "recreate" authentic history, from first hand eye witnesses.  We can split things down the middle. You know how many people would pay good money to have actual Civil War soldiers reenact the Battle of Gettysburg?  Gold mine.
History Hunter

Hey there, Hunter,
You are correct about many vampires being very old. Some of them, including one who tends to plague me quite often, have lived for a thousand or so years. But that is where your gold mine idea tends to go bust. Any information or knowledge they have would come at a very high price which might even include your becoming one of them. And even then, you can't trust them as far as you can throw them, so who says it would even be true? Think about the price you might be required to pay and then ask yourself if it might not be worth it to continue perusing all those dusty old tomes and coming up with the information yourself.
As for this "we can split things down the middle" stuff- who is "we"? If you mean to include me in that we, it would be at least a 75-25 split in my favor.
Dr. L

Hi....
A friend of mine is a shifter.  Lately he hasn't been feeling well...andI don't know why.  But he hasn't been coming out of his house and he
just kind of lays around.  I really want to take him to get some medical  help but, he is refusing due to his "condition."  But I think I
finally convinced him that he really needs to go.  My question is:
Since he spends part of his life as animals...should I take him to a doctor or a vet?
Concerned Carissa

Hello, CC,
Are you kidding me? I mean, you can't be serious about this, right? You are writing into MY column, to get FREE ADVICE from me, DR. LUDWIG, famous doctor of supes and humans alike.  Come on, not even you could  have eaten a big enough bowl of stupid to ask me such a ridiculous question. HE SHOULD MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE ME!!! I take cash or major credit cards.
The nerve of some people!

Hi Dr. L
I'm able to hear peoples thoughts.  I've never really use it to my advantage or anything, I just try to live as normally as possible.  My one friend, who is a huge fan of yours by the way, and reads your site and all this stuff on vampires keeps telling me that I should keep in hiding.  He said that the Vampires might want me for more than my blood.  I live in a really rural area of Pennsylvania and I can almost guarantee that there are no vampires.  But anyways...is it true?  Am I a high priority target for vampires if they figure out what I am?
Kaylie

Hi, Kaylie,
I would like to introduce you to a young woman I have treated who has the same "gift" as you do- telepathy.  Her name is Sookie Stackhouse. The stories I am sure she could tell you about the perils those nasty blood sucking fiends put her through would curl your hair! I have tried, unsuccessfully, to persuade her to leave that element behind. She's a sweet girl, but seems to be bound and determined to get herself into all manner of life threatening situations because she lets those evil vampires use her for her talents. Sigh...what's a good doctor to do?
As for you, get in touch with my office. We have a witness protection program for telepaths...for a fee, of course. Hey, what price do you put on your life?
Dr. L

Hello "Doctor"
Although I know your age is somewhat considerable, mine is a similar level.  I do still find it amusing that you adopt the notion that your
pithy advice and answers are something of actual value.  These humans and pathetic scum that read your column are just mindless automatons that think your advice gives them so degree of control in their meaningless lives.
Yet I can not deny that you have gained a certain following.  Therefore, for the sake of all who happen to stumble upon the tiny little niche of the internet that you have carved out for yourself, please tell the good people:  Where did you get your Doctorate?  You call yourself a doctor, don't the people have a right to know where you've obtained your education?  Was the institution accredited?  Did you pass your board exams?  Where did you do your residency?  Did they even have an education system when you were growing up?  Or are you just a fraud, like your dear old friend Ms. Cleo?
"V"

Oh Lord, here we go again. Have you nothing better to do with your time than to badger me? You are supposed to be Mr High And Mighty Vampire Boss- don't you have women to seduce, or people to rip apart limb by limb, or something like that? And lest you forget, who do you call upon when one of your kind, or one of your humans needs medical assistance and most other doctors flee in terror? Hmmm???? You might want to take that into consideration lest you find I am indisposed next time you call on me. That, or find my price has gone up yet again.
As to your query about my training, any time you are brave enough to come into my office, you can see my multiple degrees and certificates I have on display. The mysteries of healing and medicine I have garnered over the years would (and do) fill volumes used by the venerated institutions to teach medical students.
So, to bring things up to date, Step Back, Jack.  Your opinion and a dollar will buy me a cup of coffee at McDonalds.

True Blood Season 3: Theo Alexander Reveals Secrets

As True Blood fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming third season of the HBO vampire series, a new cast member has some info to share... sort of. Theo Alexander is set to play vampire Talbot, the companion of Mississippi's vampire king, Russell Edgington. Rumors suggest that Talbot has an illicit affair with one (or more?) of Bon Temps favorite boys: Bill, Eric, Sam, or even Jason. Theo is quick to dismiss any such rumor. But he's not too shy when it comes to discussing his character, so to speak. When asked how naked he gets during his run on the show (eight episodes), he replies,
"Not too much, but when I do, it's for a good reason. It's going to be a crazy season. We take it as far as we can."
Theo also reveals that while Talbot was originally a British vampire, the actor keeps his natural Greek accent for the character. So much to look forward to, and still so long to go. Season three of True Blood premieres June 13th. SOURCE: eonline.com (Photo Credit: HBO Inc., John P. Johnson)
