Lindsay Pulsipher talks about True Blood and Patrick Swayze

Lindsay Pulsipher's True Blood Experience

Lindsay Pulsipher is one of the newest additions to True Blood. She plays the newest object of Jason Stackhouse's affection, Crystal Norris. Crystal is a were-panther who lives on a family "commune" of sorts. (Her family also deals drugs and V, which causes problems for everyone.) Lindsay is very different from her character Crystal. She's an enthusiastic blond who is a born and raised Mormon from Utah. Pulsipher stated that the True Blood set is one of the best she has been a part of and very easy going. Since the True Blood writers are very secretive about what is going to happen, they never came right out in the beginning and told her that she would be a werepanther. She had read previously in the book about Crystal Norris and figured the writers would be going in that directions She did get some clues, though. An example of this was described by Linsay:
"Early on in the shooting process, there were a couple of scenes where Jason and Crystal are getting to know each other in the woods. There's a moment where Crystal smells something in the air and kind of springs up, and she's very felinelike."
Since her character is mainly of the "catlike" persuasion, she hasn't had to deal as much with the fake blood, but she does tell fans that there are two different types of fake blood on set. There is a sugary fake blood that is put in the actor's mouths and then there is the blood that production uses to pour everywhere.

Patrick Swayze

Lindsay also worked with Patrick Swayze during his last project, a tv show called Beast. Lindsay talked about Patrick and her memories with him, saying:
"Patrick was just such a personable, warm guy. He had this amazing sense of humor and a way of drawing you in that made you feel like the most important person in the room. He had a huge heart. I feel so blessed I was able to work with him on his last project. I feel it was some of his best work because of what he was going through, and he really gave himself to that role. My favorite moment with him was in the makeup trailer. It was a long day and he had been so tired from the chemo and had worked himself to the bone. We were taking off our makeup, and there was this very familial moment. I could see in his eyes he was just happy to have made it through the season. We did it. I will never forget. It was one of the last times I saw him, too, so it was really special."
Lindsay has been a wonderful addition to True Blood. We are very excited to see where Crystal and Jason's relationship lead us through the next season! Source: http://citylinkmix.com — True Blood Confessions with Lindsay Pulsipher (Photo Credit: HBO)

Investigative Reports -- Russell Edgington

C O N F I D E N T I A L

Property of The American Vampire League - Do Not Distribute

Attn: Nan Flannigan

Dear Ms. Flannigan, As agreed per our video conference, here is the first report on our findings regarding Mr. Russell Edgington. What we are presenting here are the earliest recorded dates unearthed in our investigation. As you can imagine, this is extremely time consuming and occasionally, nearly impossible to verify if all of these accounts are indeed 100% accurate. However, my colleagues and I have endeavored to do our best for you and the esteemed members of the council. RUSSELL EDGINGTON Documents found in several residencies and ruins scattered throughout the globe prove that Mr. Edgington has been conspiring with an assortment of despicable characters for approximately the past 25 centuries. The National Bureau of Vampiric Affairs (NBVA) has prepared an extensive investigative report detailing several of Edgington's attempts at annihilating the human race in hopes of driving mortals to the verge of extinction and generate an anarchic state in which vampires would come to power. While the vampire claims to be almost 3000 years old, our historians have consistently failed in finding proof of his existence before the reign of the Julio-Claudian dynasty (placed in ancient Rome from 27 BC to 68 AD). Edgington's influence appears to have started on young Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus, also known as Caligula. The extent and range of this influence is unclear in the case of this emperor, but what seems to stand out is the fact that the vampire glamored Caligula into believing he was a god, and as such he could not be killed. Large amounts of vampire blood (referred to today as "V") streamed into Caligula's system and drove the emperor to unsurpassed lust and debauchery, giving him the insane idea of turning the senate house into a brothel to cover up state deficit. The emperor's so called "madness" reached its zenith when he turned his favorite horse into a consul; an act that in itself was meant to mock the institution of consulship; but was, in this case, provoked by the constant glamoring sessions and the resulting brain damage, and truly had no humorous intention to begin with. Historians now believe that Edgington became close friends with Caligula in the form of an actor called Mnester. Edgington found a way to use the emperor's passion for the arts, plays in particular, to dominate Caligula and keep him in a near-constant state of frenzy. Managed by the elusive figure of Mnester (Edgington), Caligula started huge parades and staged theatrical plays that bled the empire's budget and generated huge amounts of debt. After this, the so called "actor" instructed the emperor to turn senator's wives into prostitutes with the hopes of creating a civil war. After this event, which admittedly was a truly original way of covering up for state debt, the emperor was murdered by a glamored centurion who weaved a conspiracy to kill Caligula after a chariot race. Presumably, Edgington glamored this man into murdering the emperor because the succession was not clear and the whole empire would fall into a chaotic mass of defenseless people, ready to be slaughtered and enslaved by his vampire minions. Although the exact details of why this plan was unsuccessful cannot be ascertained, the resulting outcome was that Caligula's uncle, Claudius, became the head of the Roman Empire despite being considered at the time to have a possibly flawed brain.

Edgington maintained anonymity after the failed take over of  Rome until his obvious return during Nero's reign. Again in the figure of an actor, Edgington reappeared and claimed himself as the vile Sporus, the infamous actor who is well known for exerting influence over the emperor. Edgington convinced Nero to spend denarii wildly all across the empire on excessive amounts of  jewelry and clothing. It is said that being arsonist, Nero wet his bed, and therefore sought help from a very diverse group of people. Among them was of course, Edgington, posing a Sporus. There is proof that Edgington glamored  the emperor and"cured" him of his chronic bed wetting problem and then engaged Nero in a sexual liaison. Eventually, Sporus (Edgington)  married Nero as his HUSBAND; shocking for its time. Feeding the emperor regularly with his blood, Nero quickly became addicted to Edgington's (Sporus) presence in the Roman court. Edgington came very close to his objective of annihilating the inhabitants of Rome when he urged Nero to burn the city so he could build himself a huge villa. This villa was supposed to be their "dream home", filled with portraits and statues of the man and his vampire lover. Archaeologists have found evidence of a lavish hidey-hole for Edgington, located right below the emperor's rooms and with direct access. When the fire was controlled and the city was saved, the emperor's position was weakened and Edgington's plot was nearly discovered. He quickly fled the city and no further records have been located concerning his whereabouts during this era.  Nero's fate was sealed after this event, and without his regular supply of V, he went into withdrawals. He committed assisted suicide shortly after, where reliable sources say he wept tears of desperation and cried out the name of his long lost lover, Sporus, with his final breath. Edgington remained absent from human affairs for a long period of time, but our findings reveal that in nearly every era where chaos and pandemonium have ensued, Russell Edgington's presence has been noted. More reports to follow as soon as further proof and verifications of certain facts can be obtained. It has taken centuries of careful control to ensure the dissemination of what vampires want humans to believe regarding their history. As such, these records must be guarded accordingly. End of report. Most obediently yours, Mrs. Bianca Sotopazzi Head Investigator National Bureau of Vampiric Affairs

Guillermo Del Toro & Hogan Offer Signed Copy of Latest Book to Benefit Amanda Foundation

The cast of True Blood aren't the only ones involved in the vampire genre who are excited to auction off an item for charity. Guillermo del Toro, most known for his work on Pan's Labyrinth and the Hellboy [film] series, and writer Chuck Hogan, author of Prince of Thieves: A Novel, have graciously agreed to help The Amanda Foundation by allowing TrueBloodNet.com to auction off a signed copy of their book, The Fall: Book Two of The Strain Trilogy!

The auction will run from October 26th, 2010 until November 9th, 2010.

'The Fall' autographed by Del Toro Recently, I was thrilled to see Guillermo del Toro give a presentation to a group of awe-inspired admirers, myself included,  at the TimesTalks Times Center building in New York.  However, when it came to what he would be like or even as to what he would look like, I wasn't sure what to expect. When he walked out he was dressed strictly in black, a plump, unassuming man, he casually sat in the center chair of the three placed on the stage. Throughout the talk he revealed a dazzling personality, full of energy and an infectious enthusiasm for his craft and answered the moderators' and audience's questions humorously and with effortless eloquence. I'll admit I hadn't expected him, this master and lover of horror, to be so wickedly funny. Do not be deceived however, for his books are full of some of the most horrific depictions I've ever read and will surely rival some of True Blood's most gruesome and head turning moments. It's my sincerest wish that your love of vampires will bleed into your love for our fanged animal friends in need of good homes. I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone that they should bid as if a pet depended on it. In order to participate, you must be registered to bid. Registering is free and registering now will get you set up for future True Blood charity auctions. Please go here to view the auction. Guillermo Del Toro, Chuck Hogan and TrueBloodNet.com have teamed up to help The Amanda Foundation. The Amanda Foundation is a pet rescue organization that was founded in 1976, and has since placed thousands of homeless animals into loving homes. A nonprofit organization, they not only rescue dogs and cats who, through no fault of their own, are spending their last days at city and county shelters but they also sponsor a free web page for those that need to re-home their furry, feathered or scaled companions; sponsor spay and neuter education programs and operate a spay-mobile; and have their own veterinary hospital. They also run a feral cat spay/neuter and vaccination program that has treated over 1000 feral cats including 200 in one day! All profits from this auction go directly to The Amanda Foundation to support their worthy work.

"The Fall"

"The vampiric virus unleashed in The Strain has taken over New York City. It is spreading across the country and soon, the world. Amid the chaos, Eph Goodweather—head of the Center for Disease Control's team—leads a small band out to stop these bloodthirsty monsters. But it may be too late. Ignited by the Master's horrific plan, a war erupts between Old and New World vampires, each vying for total control. Caught between these warring forces, humans—powerless and vulnerable—are no longer the consumers, but the consumed. With the future of the world in the balance, Eph and his courageous team, guided by the brilliant former professor and Holocaust survivor Abraham Setrakian and exterminator Vasiliy Fet, must combat a terror whose ultimate plan is more terrible than anyone first imagined—a fate worse than annihilation. Though Eph understands the vampiric plague better than anyone, even he cannot protect those he loves from the invading evil. His ex-wife, Kelly, has been turned by the Master, and now she stalks the city, in the darkness, looking for her chance to reclaim Zack, Eph's young son."
