The latest episode of True Blood, titled Fresh Blood, aired against the 2010 Emmy Awards, where True Blood was nominated in the Best Drama category. However, even with the awards show going on, True Blood had excellent ratings! During the 9 pm first airing for the newest episode of True Blood, HBO garnered 5.4 million viewers. When the encore presentation of the episode aired at 11:30 pm, 1.2 million more viewers were watching the show. Not including the newly aired Fresh Blood, True Blood has averaged a weekly gross audience of 12.6 million fans for the season to date when DVR and HBO On Demand viewings are included. For a show on a cable network, that's incredible! Congratulations to True Blood and HBO for such a successful showing! I'm sure the ratings will be even higher on September 12, when the Season 3 finale Evil is Going On airs.
