Andy Keir

Andy Keir

Andy Keir is nominated for two Eddie's this year with a second nomination in the category of Best Edited Motion Picture for Non-Commercial Television for his work on "Bernard and Doris" the story of Doris Duke and her gay butler Bernard. Keir has previously been nominated for a Golden Satellite Award in the category of Best Motion Picture Film Editing for the 1999 film, "Beloved" (with Carol Littleton).  The Satellite Awards are given by the International Press Academy, a group open to all full-time entertainment journalists, celebrating achievements for Film, Television, DVD and Multimedia.  Additionally Keir has worked as an editor for over a decade on such productions as "Beloved", King of the Jungle", and "Neil Young: Heart of Gold".  Andy also appeared in the featurette "Anatomy of a Scene", a behind the scenes peek by the Sundance Channel.  In his spare time Keir is the bass guitarist for a band called, "The Right Out Louds.  Kudos go out to Andy for scoring two nominations in one year! * When contacted for a comment Michael and Andy responded,  "Thanks so much for the great article.  We're both pleased for the show to have a nomination in the first season." The Beverly Hilton Hotel will be the site of this years 65th American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards on February 15th featuring Norman Jewison as this years 'Golden Eddie' recipient. The Eddie is often the best indicator of which cinema giant will win that years Best Picture Oscar but will this translate to Emmy territory? Only time will tell. Let's all wish Mr. Ruscio and Mr. Keir the very best of luck and not forget that they're the men that have tormented us with those deliciously misleading previews week after week. Thanks for the great work Michael and Andy! Interested in what an editor does? Check out the The ACE website.
