'If All Arkansas Read the Same Book' Program
"You don't know my husband. And I have a great imagination....my husband would die if he knew I said that."Some audience members asked Harris if she has trouble keeping her Sookie Stackhouse characters straight now that True Blood has become so popular. She replied that her characters are exactly how she imagined them and she pointed out that Alan Ball doesn't stick to the books as written. The If All Arkansas Read the Same Book was started in 2001. For its 10th anniversary the first 10 books of the Sookie Stackhouse novels were chosen as part of a "10 Books in 10 Months" campaign. The program encourages reading in Arkansas and "protects the state's rich literary heritage by preserving and promoting books and literature".
