A Soccer Drama in the Works for Ryan Kwanten
Ryan Kwanten, who plays the sweet and simple Jason Stackhouse on HBO's True Blood, will be starring in another upcoming film. Titled Zebras, the film is based on the true story of a music producer in South Africa who created a soccer team called the Zebras because the team has black and white members playing side by side. The Zebras have been a successful team, which has garnered them the attention that lead to their story being brought to the big screen. Zebras will be written by David Williamson (Gallipoli) and directed by Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy). Besides Ryan being connected to the film, Camilla Belle (10,000 BC) is currently in negotiations to be a part of Zebras. It will be interesting to see if a South African accent will be required of Kwanten... not so different from Australian, but the nuances may prove challenging. True stories, feel-good movies, well-done accents -- all appealing! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
