Manganiello, Woodard Lend Star Power To Myeloma Foundation:
With all the deserving charitable causes, it must be quite difficult for our True Blood acting faves to find time to give of themselves. How to choose? Well, it seems judging from their vast participation in charitable work benefiting everything from saving the oceans to helping domestic animals to showing care and concern for a neighborhood family in need, many True Blood cast members simply can't say no to helping others. Recent case in point, on Saturday, November 13, International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) held its '4th Annual Comedy Celebration' raising funds and awareness of the disease while honoring the memory of late actor Peter Boyle. The star-studded event was hosted by Ray Romano, Boyle's co-star from 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' who was joined by Romano's on-screen mother on the show, Doris Roberts. Among the numerous celebs that turned out to lend their time and star appeal were Joe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux) and his fiance Audra Marie, as well as Emmy-winning actress Alfre Woodard, who made such a memorable impression as Lafayette's schizophrenic mom, Ruby Jean Reynolds. Other celebs who gave of their time and talent included Dana Carvey, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Fred Willard and Carlos Mencia. In addition to the show, guests enjoyed pre-cocktail party and a silent auction. Some of the items included guitars signed by Keith Richards and Sting and the boxing gloves formerly belonging to to Mohammed Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard. Lucky VIP ticket holders also enjoyed a chance to mingle with the stars during the after-party.
