Charlaine Harris Interview on AETN

chinterviewRecently the New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris sat down to chat with Steve Barnes to discuss the success of her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series. Originally from Mississippi Charlaine began writing in her teenage years focusing mostly on ghost stories which expanded to poetry and plays as she attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. After getting married she wrote and published several mystery novels and later on after her third child she developed two different series, "Aurora Teagarden" and "Lily Bard", which eventually earned her an Agatha nomination for the Teagarden series. Eventually she decided to take on the vampire mythology and modernized it in the Sookie Stackhouse series with vampires and humans mingling together and getting involved in various intrigues. Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series has been adapted by Award winning Director/Producer/Writer Alan Ball into the highly successful HBO TV series "True Blood" staring Golden Globe winner Anna Paquin (for her portrayal of Sookie Stackhouse) and the very talented Stephen Moyer.
