True Blood Season 2: Evan Rachel Wood Returns To Her Roots

evanrwEvan Rachel Wood is keeping herself very busy lately by starring in a Woody Allen film entitled "Whatever Works" scheduled to be released in June, appearing in a photo spread in the latest issue of GQ, the possibility of playing Mary Jane in the broadway production of  "Spider-Man" and playing Queen Sophie-Anne in season two of True Blood.  If that wasn't enough Ms. Wood will be returning to her native Raleigh, NC home to star in six performances of Romeo and Juliet as a fundraiser for Theatre In The Park, which her father manages beginning May 15, 2009. Ms. Wood stated that she is helping out because the theatre is where she started out and that she wanted to give back to the very theatre where she started her acting career.  She states that she and her brother, Ira David Wood IV, have always dreamed of coming back to the theatre and putting on a production of Romeo and Juliet ever since they were little when they first saw it on their father's stage.  Her brother is directing and playing Mercutio, while her father, Ira David Wood III, TIP's executive director and founder will play plays Capulet. Ms. Wood recalls as a child performing in the theatre's annual "A Christmas Carol", and as was as Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker." Ms. Wood mentions that she was wondering how people would react to her returning back to the theatre:
"I thought ... is it going to be weird acting with the same people I acted with when I was 6," she said. "But it was like no time had passed at all. I just went right back into it. And nothing had changed, it was like I was just there yesterday."
