True Blood’s Marshall Allman in 'Blue Like Jazz'

Film Saved By Fans of Book

Blue Like Jazz PosterMarshall Allman, who plays Sam Merlotte's brother Tommy Mickens on True Blood is hard at work filming 'Blue Like Jazz'.  The film, based off the faith-based book by David Miller, almost hit the chopping block after an investor fell out. Miller, who wrote the book about his spiritual journey, blogged about the film being put on indefinite hold. When two fans, Zach Prichard and Jonathan Frazier, read the news they kick started a campaign to raise money by launching Savebluelikejazz.com. After a 30 day campaign, the film received $346,000 from 4,495 donors, and has been put back into production.  Director Steve Taylor, has made it his mission to call as many as he can to thank them personally. Many donors will also be receiving associate producer credits. Marshall Allman will play the lead role of David Miller in the film.  Below is a video clip of Marshall talking about his role and the film.
