Sam Trammell Attends Opening Night Party for The Starry Messenger

Sam TrammellEarlier this week, True Blood's Sam Trammell returned to the place of his acting beginnings on the New York stage. In support of his girlfriend, Missy Yager, he went to the pre-opening night celebration of her new play in New York City. The Starry Messenger is a production of the New Group theatre company. It was written and directed by Oscar nominee Kenneth Lonergan, whose highly acclaimed 1996 play, This Is Our Youth, featured True Blood's leading actress, Anna Paquin, during its successful run on London's West End. The Starry Messenger stars Matthew Broderick as a boring astronomy teacher whose life is changed by a surprising encounter. The cast also includes Catalina Sandino Morena, J. Smith-Cameron, Kieran Culkin, and Missy Yager. The play doesn't actually premiere until November 23rd, but many theatre stars came to show their support at the opening night party. Among those in attendance, besides Sam Trammell, were Tate Donovan, Bobby Cannavale, Sam Rockwell, and Natasha Lyonne.
