Nelsan Ellis to Attend Vampire Baseball in New Orleans

Nelsan Ellis who portrays the flamboyant short-order cook, Lafayette Reynolds, on Alan Ball hit HBO TV series True Blood will be joining other celebrities including cast members from Twilight in the "Twilight FanTrips' Vampire Baseball Cajun-Style" game at the Zephyr Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, March 20 , 2010. The event will feature:
  • Vampire Baseball™ Exhibition Game with Stars
  • Autographs and Photos with Stars
  • Meet and greet opportunity with Stars
  • After-party and concert
  • The basic ticket will allow you to attend the celebrity vampire baseball game where you will be able to watch the stars in the game and take pictures of the actors as they play.  Additional opportunities can be added to your ticket including exclusive photographs, autographs and meet and greets with the actors that can be purchased for additional fees.  These include:
  • Personal Photo Op Tickets: Take your picture with your favorite celebrity in a Vampire Baseball™ photo-op background
  • Personal Autograph Tickets: Bring your own personal item (such as the official event program or merchandise) and have it signed by a celebrity
  • Exclusive Cozy Coffee Meet and Greets: A maximum of 30 fans have the exclusive opportunity to spend 30 minutes with a celebrity in a luxury suite

During the vampire baseball game there will be a sponsored blood drive on Saturday, March 20th from 11:00am to 5:00pm at the Zephyr Stadium in a bloodmobile. Proceeds from the celebrity vampire baseball event will be used to support various charitable organizations.  Some of the organizations that will benefit from the event include the following:
  • 25% of proceeds will be sent to organizations such as the American Red Cross and Hope for Haiti Now to support their ongoing efforts to rebuild lives destroyed by this disaster in Haiti.
  • The New Orleans non-profit organizations such as The Blood Center and the 9th Ward Field of Dreams
  • The "From The Heart Club" where blood donors send children with cancer and chronic hematologic disorders to a summer camp known as 'Camp Challenge.' For every 250 donors that designate their blood donation to 'From the Heart' Club, one child goes to Camp for one week at no cost to the child.
