True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard Was This Close To Playing Thor

alexander-skarsgard-true-blood-season-2-full-photoOn MTV's Splash page Alexander Skarsgard was interviewed about losing the role of Marvel's big screen feature movie "Thor." Alexander was quoted as saying "Yeah, I met with [Marvel Studios chief] Kevin [Feige] a few times and the director [Kenneth Branagh]," asked about earlier rumors that he was one of the last people cut before Chris Hemsworth was chosen to play the Norse god of thunder.  "There was definitely some truth in that, yeah."  Well unfortunately for us we won't get to see Alex on the big Ssreen just yet, (although if we were in Sweden, well that's another story) but if you have been following TrueBloodNet.com you know he has at least two films coming out , the animated Sci-Fi Swedish feature "Metropia" with his father Stellan Skarsgard, and "Beyond The Pole" due for release sometime in 2009. I personally have to admit I am a little sad not to see him in a super hero costume, as I am sure all of you are.  Eric in tights! YUM!  And well he's, tall, blond, handsome and Norse! What else could he need for the part?  To see Larry Carroll's full story check out MTV's Splash Page link below: MTV Splash Page (Photo credit: HBO Inc.)
