True Blood's Ashley Jones Is My Maker

HOLLYWOOD—"Remember Me" is the title of Sunday night's episode of "True Blood." The HBO series was the best on Sunday night than it's ever been since the series started last year. Fans were excited to see that Sam didn't die. But I am sad to say my favorite character Daphne the shape shifter, played by my friend Ashley Jones did die at the end of the episode. Ashley Jones recently told me, "I am done for now. But you never know. This is one of the most brilliantly written shows on television, I could be back later. I hope so." Ashley's not the only one. Bobby Head who loves the series "TB" wrote to me immediately and said, "Tonight was just the wildest yet. Sorry to see your friend bite the dust. She has sure got a body. I mean, wow, what a figure!" Concluding about tonight's episode, Bobby added, "OMG. This show is beyond The X-Files! It's got more twists than Chubby Checker's underwear."

Bobby is correct. The episode was amazing. Sam played by Sam Trammel had fans worried as Maryann's coven was about to hand him over for her as a sacrifice. The gyrating diva wearing horns was about to kill Sam when he bolted, ran from her and shape shifted into an owl and flew away. Maryann was very upset but not as much as the dopey Deputy Sheriff, Andy, who ended up confronting the coven, which ultimately caused him to have a broken arm. Again, Sheriff Dearborne played by character actor William Sanderson didn't believe him. The problem with being the town drunk is that when you actually see crazy things for real, no one will believe you or even listen. Sam was very upset about what Daphne had done to him. He confronted her at her favorite water hole and she swam while explaining to Sam that love forced her to hand him over. He told her, "You don't love me." She later explained that it was her love for Maryann, who she considered god. It was later revealed by Daphne that Maryann is perhaps Satan himself. Sam worried about all of his friends, including Tara, played brilliantly by Rutina Wesley. Tara and Eggs are unaware of the powers Maryann has over them, but it's becoming apparent that they are soon to face the revelation of Maryann's demonic powers, in fact the entire town is. While in Dallas, Texas, Bill played by handsome Stephen Moyer was unable to save his true love Sookie, played by Anna Paquin because his maker, Lorena kept him hostage while Sookie was being held hostage by the vindictive Reverend. Lorena and Bill's history came out more tonight and during flashback scenes of the two in Los Angeles circa 1935, Lorena cried tears of blood while feeling abandoned by Bill for wanting to leave her. This explained her obsessive desire to keep Bill all for herself and also showed us why she hates Sookie so much. Sarah the preacher's wife decided, after cheating on her husband with Jason, that they should confess to her husband and run off together. Jason ever the village idiot proved to be a lot smarter than viewers had imagined. Jason who is played by actor Ryan Kwanten, thought he'd outsmarted the preacher's wife and was heading out of town when the minister kidnapped him and told his brutal henchman to kill Jason. "You are going to hell today!" exclaimed the Reverend to Jason, the adulterer. Jason got away from the henchman only to run through the woods for hours and finally Sarah showed up with a gun and shot him in the chest. Lucky for Jason and "True Blood" fans, it was only a paintball gun. Sterling R. Pettit felt the Same relief I did, saying on Facebook, "So glad it was just a paintball gun, I love Jason." While female viewers were going into shock, Kurt B. Stennett reminded them, "looks like Sarah shot Jason with a paintball gun. Don't worry girls, he's not dead, yet." Jessica and Hoyt frolicked in the hotel room and were a major hit tonight with viewers. Hoyt seems too sincere to be true to me. Hoping that I am wrong, as they are a cute couple. Sookie found herself in grave danger of being assaulted by the church henchman only to be saved by Godric. My gracious, what an actor. His 10 seconds on the screen was perhaps the most astonishing of the full hour. Allan Hyde who portrays the 2000-year-old vampire is absolutely charismatic and handsome, and has in ten seconds received more fan applause than many stars have received in this season. One of the Facebook "True Blood" fans said, "Where the heck was Godric all of this time? He looks so hot!" said Nedera Wright. Eric played by Alexander Skarsgard went out of his hotel room toward the church at the speed of light when one of Sookie's fellow mind readers unwittingly told Lorena that Sookie was in danger in the basement of the church. Eric overheard the conversation through his hotel door. Fans see a love triangle starting here between Bill, Sookie and Eric. Who knows what the writers have in mind. This episode was mind blowing good. What great acting and writing for episode "Remember Me." Though Dallas, Texas, is the battleground for Armageddon soon to began on earth, back home Daphne was pleasantly surprised to see the object of her affections, Maryann, arrive at the swimming hole. Only seconds later she saw Eggs behind Maryann with coal black eyes and within seconds Eggs stabbed Daphne in the heart. Ashley Jones played the shape shifter's emotions with absolute brilliance. Her joy soon turned to horror, but viewer Carmen Morales summed up what many fans were thinking, "I feel bad Daphne died. But then again, she kind of deserved it." After turning over fan favorite Sam to Maryann's coven, there was little sympathy for Daphne, but fans did love Ashley Jones who played the role. Consensus was, Jones was one of the show's best actresses. By the end of the episode all the buzz was about Godric's sudden and surprising appearance. Some of the viewers felt the show is getting better with every episode. Jenny Posey expressed, "Awesome episode. I don't think I can wait until next week. What am I going to do until then. Go crazy most likely." Jackie Wion Thompson stated, "What a great cliff hanger. I can't wait for next week, and it is still only Sunday." I have to concur with all of these opinions. I'm sad to see Ashley Jones, my favorite actress on the show, leave for now anyway. Though she did go off in a blaze of glory and surely the writers and producers can find a way to bring Daphne back, only just as powerful as Maryann. Jones's final performance is Emmy worthy. With that, I add, Ashley Jones is my maker. HBO announced last week, "True Blood" season three has been ordered. Look for all new episodes Summer 2010. Until then, don't miss an episode of this great cult classic series. Source: Tommy Garrett at Canyon News (Photo credit: Gilles Toucas, Bell Phillip TV Prod)
