Preview for the True Blood Comic Book Series

True Blood fans have something else to be excited for besides the return of the show to HBO in June! IDW Publishing is releasing a 6-issue comic book miniseries, which will debut at San Diego Comic-Con in July. The stories were plotted by the show's creator, Alan Ball, and writers Kate Barnow and Elisabeth Finch, and co-written by comic veterans David Tischman and Mariah Huehner. The books will be drawn by artist David Messina, with covers by J. Scott Campbell. When the series was announced, Alan Ball stated,
"These graphic novels are a great companion to the series and we are pleased that the popularity of the show is allowing it to branch out into different mediums."
Sookie Stackhouse and the other characters of Bon Temps will all be featured. The great thing about the comic is that it allows the fans of the show to experience the story in a new way. For a look at the four covers of issue #1, as well as a glimpse at the first several pages, take a look at the True Blood Facebook album. Artwork is based on images that will be familiar to many of you, whether they are cast promo photos, actor publicity photos, or screen shots from Seasons 1 and 2.
