True Blood's Kristin Bauer: Vampire by Night, Screenwriter by Day

In a fun bit of news, it seems one of True Blood's own actors is taking a stab at screenwriting. Kristin Bauer, aka Pam, has submitted a screenplay to The Silver Screenwriting competition. Silver Screenwriting is a competition that gives new screenwriters the chance to make contacts and get some professional feedback from those experienced in the industry. The grand prize includes a MacBook Air, conversations with successful screenwriters and managers, and every screenwriter's favorite, a copy of Save the Cat! Goes to the Movies. (It is a great book if you're at all interested in the movie-writing process.) It's interesting to see someone known as an actor to branch out and join the competition with the rest of the unknowns. When asked about her artistic view, Kristin says:
"In Acting - the actor is the last piece of the puzzle, most of the work has been done befor we step in and ice the cake.... But with painting and writing, from the first hint of an idea to the final stroke, it's all me - for better or for worse."
Best of luck in the competition, Kristin! If there are any other aspiring screenwriters out there, the last deadline for entering is June 1st. The entry fee is $59.00. Finalists will be announced throughout the summer, with the grand prize winner announced on September 15th. Source: silverscreenwriting.com (Photo Credit: HBO, Inc.)
