Carrie Preston of True Blood Wins Awards at the SXSW Festival

carrieduplicity3Carrie Preston is not only keeping herself busy playing the role of Arlene Fowler on Alan Ball's hit HBO TV series True Blood, she is also involved in two films which are both premiering in 2009. The two major film projects that Carrie Preston has recently been involved with are both generating rave reviews and acclaim. "Duplicity" which Carrie co-stars with Julia Roberts and Clive Owens is a spy thriller which has received rave reviews from critics and is being claimed as a "must see" movie that has just opened across theatres on Friday, March 20, 2009. Carrie Preston also co-stars in another feature film with Hal Holbrook, Mia Wasikowska, Ray McKinnon, and Walton Goggins in "That Evening Sun," a drama set in Tennessee between two old foes. The movie was one of the entries in the SXSW Festival which screens 133 feature-length films including 57 world premieres. "That Evening Sun," directed by Scott Teems won a total of two awards including "Narrative Feature Audience Award," and "Special Jury Award For Best Esemble Cast," at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival. Congratulations to Carrie for her wins and for the acknowledgement of her hard work on the film.
