Game of Thrones - HBO Releases New Image!

For many of us the long wait between True Blood season's truly sucks. So to fill the time we're anticipating the new HBO offering coming out this spring: Game of Thrones. The show, which is slated to air in the spring, is based on the fantasy novel of the same name by George R. R. Martin. "Game of Thrones" was written in 1996 as the first novel of the epic series, "A Song of Fire and Ice". The television adaptation has been compared to 'Rome' in a land of magic as it centers on the intrigues of the struggle for power in a land of dire-wolves, years long turn of season and mythic creatures. One of the Writer/Producers of the series, David Benioff, refers to the series as "The Sopranos in Middle-earth". The Iron Throne of Westeros is the much sought after prize.

HBO, who's production quality all "True Blood" enthusiasts are familiar with, has gone so far as to have the Dothraki language created by linguist David J. Peterson. The series will be a truly international production with filming currently underway in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Malta. The current cast list taken from Wikipedia:
