True Blood Comic Revealed at NY Comic Con

Fourth Issue Celebrated at True Blood Party

True Blood Comic NY Comic Con HBO and IDW Publishing hosted at party at this years NY Comic Con to unveil the 4th issue of the comic series. Fans of HBO's series True Blood, who might be going through withdrawal now that season 3 is complete, can rejoice at the release of the comic which was celebrated with blood-red cupcakes, Fangbanger drinks and array of actual costumes from the show still sporting "blood" stains. Writers David Tischman and Mariah Huehner sat down with MTV to discuss a few details about the comic. When asked what makes the comics stand out from the show Mariah said:
"We're able to do things visually that you can't really do on the show. We happen to have a monster that's on a scale that I don't think the show has been able to do yet."
David added
"I think that the premise for the comic is that all the characters are trapped inside Merlotte's over the course of a night, and they're trapped by this monster that you wouldn't really see on TV, who can rip somebody's head off and throw it across the room. What the monster is demanding is that each of them tell this story that is their most emotionally shameful moment."
Mariah described how forthcoming Alan Ball has been with is time and his ideas when they sat down to form the outline for the comic:
"We got to meet with him and they were in the middle of doing the show, and they took a couple of hours out to meet with us and sit down and make sure the story really gelled. They came in with some ideas and we sort of bounced them back and forth, and we all kind of decided on different takes that would work."
I think it would be safe to say that thinking of our beloved characters describing their most shameful moment would make us want to grab a copy right away!
