FEARnet Glimpses Future of True Blood Comic

Comic book publisher IDW released some wonderful news at WonderCon 2010 -- it will be publishing a True Blood comic book. Correspondents from FEARnet.com were there at the San Fransico event to catch a glimpse of a banner advertising the new comic. It features key members of the True Blood television cast, including Sookie, Bill and Eric. Here's a wide shot of the banner but take note that the banner does say that this is not the final art.  Therefore, changes in the characters' appearance may be made along the way.

Their booth was a miniature Merlotte's, where waitresses kept fans refreshed with cups of the official TruBlood beverage.

The series will contain six, 32-page issues priced at $3.99. It is schedule to debut in July at the San Diego Comic-Con. IDW's Anna Maria White told FEARnet that the writers are working closely with Alan Ball to make the comic's integration into the True Blood world seamless.
"It's not gonna be adaptations of the scripts. It's gonna be additional stories in that world."
In the first issue, Sookie and friends are trapped inside Merlotte's by an entity that feeds on emotion and is killing off patrons. The story was developed by Alan and series writers Elisabeth Finch and Kate Barnow. It's co-written by David Tischman and Mariah Huehner, with interior and cover art by David Messina and cover art by J. Scott Campbell. Source: FEARnet.com Photo credit: Sophia Quach
